IMAGE SIZE IT BIG! So it may take awhile for it to load for some people.I just want to say don't use the base at the end of the tutorial to make a doll just yet. I'm going to be making more poses for it, so please be patient. The base will be released when the set is finished.
So here's the base tutorial
I know that in the poll, base tutorial came in second place but I thought that it would be a good idea to at least know how to make a tutorial first since I never made one before, so I used base tut. as a practice.
I don't know how I'm going to create a tutorial for a whole doll or if I'm ever going to get around to it. Someday...just someday I might.
But for now, your going to have to settle with the base tutorial.
Anyways, I hope that this tutorial at least helps out when creating bases. The layout of the tutorial is kind of plain and simple, but it's the information that is the most important
Tell me if you spot any problems with the tutorial or give me some C/C please

Personally, whenever I make a base, I always leave the face blank, to make it customizable for the one who is using it.

This is really lovely and helpful... I keep forgetting that I need to probably learn more about anatomy (more than the nothing I know now) before trying to create bases.

I LOVE IT!!! Very detailed but not too confusing. A simple technique that turns out GREAT if used correctly. Even beginners like me might be able to make a decent base with this.
I also appreciate that this isn't one of those traced base tutorials--there are way too many of those going around. I hate how people support traced bases. :\
Anyways, all in all, a great tutorial.

okay, stupid question time! i know it looks better when you have shading on both sides of the face, but why? wouldn't there be no shadow if the light source is on that side?
i know it looks better when there is a shadow there.... sorry if i just confused you, i'm just curious

If you're using windows, it should already be on your computer.
If you're using a mac, it doesn't come with it nor does it support the program.

You are probably saving it as JPG or JPEG? You should try saving it as BMP or PNG instead (can't upload BMP on here though, it'll turn to JPG automatically) Also don't use GIF when using MS Paint, it makes the colors go weird D:

Is it okay if I use the pixelproportions for the head?
Since I'm having a real hard time figuring out how many pixels to use to create a natural shape.

This is really cool! My only art program at the moment is MSpaint, and for a long time I've drawn and have admired pixel-precise artwork.
Looking through this tutorial I found was extraordinarily helpful, because even though I don't do dolls or anything like that, it shows what can be done with colour and shadeing//lighting in MSpaint and what you've done here is incredibly enlightning?

select the erasor-tool-thingy, click on orange and than do not leftclick while erasing but right click, than only the orange lines will disapear ^^ hope it helped
