♚Slowly, gently night unfolds its splendor,
Grasp it, sense it, tremulous and tender

Pipes from the organ roar as he sets out orchestrating and polishing the notes for his next enchanting piece. The tip of his quill dances across the thick golden parchment that was pushed against the music stand as he makes an edit in the tune, the shoulders scratching against the texture as the slit bleeds black, glossy ink, while the light vanes and barb kiss and skim against his leather hand. His vigorous gaze was set reverently on the staff of his music sheet, which seemed be misaligned with clefs and notes, some dangling on the bottom and most scattered amongst the top. With his head sagging deeper into his work, the trapezius of his shoulder hunched and started to throb, triggering him to murmur gratingly and moan in frustration as it stretched his muscles. His spine began cricking as his skull beated in a tumultuous frenzy, the stress belabouring his mind as he strained to focus. His attention went askew as he heaved himself away from his desk and to his chambers, awaiting the sleeping deity that would be veiled under his bed sheets.

There lay his stupor dove, upon a heavy rug of crimson, plumy cushions where sparks of glittering dust seemed to swirl and waft quietly above her. Her rich, thick weaves flared against the cushion as she cuddled against the warmth of them, his song casting her into a silvery-sounding slumber. She was in a never-ending dwam. The only items lingering in her blurred vision were the pumpkin blushed flames of candles bestrewn around her, bleeding honey-coloured molten down the base.

“Goodnight,” he breathes before joining her side, ridding himself of his white cravat, shirt and black waistcoat, his bare, hirsute chest touching against her silky, loose-fitting nightdress which adorned golden lace. He nestled the tip of his nose into the immaculate, translucent skin that rests on her long neck, murmuring endearments of love and affection for her as he draped an arm around her voluptuous figure.

He had purged her thoughts of the life above, leaving her in a boundless cavern of perpetual darkness.

Turn your face away from the garish light of day
Turn your thoughts away from cold unfeeling light
