What's going on, everyone? After nearly a week of not posting any art, I've decided to finally post one of my first desired projects in digital style as I draw this family annually, should it surprise any of you that I've made this happen?
Anyhow, since I'd get bored easily of doing COTW after COTW, I've decided to pause them every once in a while to do other art! At the end of the day, I'm sure you'd love to see something different from me ^^
At last, Balto and Jenna's family, in digital. It was bound to happen once and after all, I'm happy how this one turned out after working nearly a week on this drawing! There were so many steps and yet, eight canines fit in pretty nicely here!
So, let's do the recap and I know this may be long, but it'll be worth some of your time!

Balto - the head of the family and the half wolf. As we already know his story back from the movies, I won't go there. Simply put, after the third movie, Balto continued being with Duke, but as the pilot had various commitments and Balto missed his family, it was decided that Rosy's family should have him as a pet, which they agreed on. Balto continued being the way we know and love him, evenafter being a grandfather of twenty one of his grandpuppies! His eyebrows are starting to gray here and it's no surprise since as of 1931 (season 9 in BIS), he's reached the age of 9 (63 in human years), but he's as nimble and flexible as he was in the first movie.

Jenna - like how we know Balto's story in the movies, so we know Jenna's. She was more than happy to find out that Balto was going to live with her after Duke made a decision that her owners should have him as a pet. Being wise, pretty and compassionate, Jenna provided a high moral support to her mate and all of her pups, even after Aleu had returned in late spring of 1929. While not looking like someone who'd fight in later ages, Jenna proves that she's as flexible as ever and even if she's two months younger than Balto, she's still looking pretty youthful and the secret of her graceful aging might just remain a secret!

Aleu (Sakari, Iris) - the eldest pup in the litter and the one who inherited the most wolf features in the family, she's known for her sandy gray fur and bright blue eyes. While known for her rocky relationship with her father and rebellious attitude, her tenure as an alpha made her become mature through the time and she also learned not to take things for granted. After her glorious return to Nome, alongside with her former clanmate and boyfriend Kenai, Aleu started things anew with her father, being closer to him, as well as bonding closer to her mother and her siblings. Still, her rebellious demeanor never left her even if it no longer was her known trait. She's seen with a blue bandanna that was given by her mother and it just perfectly matches her eyes! While she was not adopted as a puppy in Nome, she was adopted by an Inuit in a secluded settlement not too far from Nome and there she mothered a litter of four half wolf puppies. She's the second pup in the family to have puppies despite being the eldest.

Yukon (Longshanks) - the eldest son in the litter and also the second eldest pup, he also was the second in line to inherit wolf features. Known for his towering height, dark red fur, hazel brown eyes he inherited from his mother and intimidating looks from outside, Yukon is actually a caring sweetheart who loves his family above everything. However, harming any family member of his is considered a big mistake as that'd have him attack the one who harmed them. He's also known for his dry sense of humor and being the only male in the family who has no interest in being a sled dog, although it's argued he'd make a good guard dog. Despite having a lot of wolf features, Yukon decided to live a dog life so he could take a good care of all his siblings and even if Aleu returned and it was on her to take that role, it was evident that Yukon was meant for that role as Aleu would never fully grasp that responsibility. He's second to the last pup in the family to become a parent, fathering a litter of triplets.

Saba - the middle daughter of the litter and the third eldest pup, she's also known for her uncanny resemblance to her mother (scarlett red fur), save for her collar and slightly darker brown eyes. Also, thanks to her father's wolf heritage, she has slightly larger paws than her mother. Living in a vet clinic as a rescue dog, alongside her puppyhood friend and future mate Josh, Saba has shown to care a lot for others and help them in need, although she's annoyed by the fact that Josh is the one who does most of the job and she's usually put aside. She also learned a lot from her master about some basic things in a medicine applied on animals, which eventually proved to be a life-saving moment caused by one of her nieces. She is also the third pup in the family to become a parent and she mothered the least pups out of her siblings - twins only.

Dingo - the middle son of the litter and the third youngest pup, he's the third pup to inherit the wolf traits, overlapping Saba. Having a plum red fur and ocean blue eyes, Dingo's best known for his sense of humor and knack of pranks he loves to play on the others, but he knows when to stop as he never means to harm anyone. Also, he can be very responsible when things become serious and nothing will stop him from giving justice to wrongdoers Like his younger brother, he's also a sled dog, but he started it after Kodi did all because he was more agile thanks to his wolf heritage. So far he's the only pup in the family who has gone through "flanderization" in BIS, season 8, but he's recovered from it in the last few chapters of that season and afterwards. As he's the third youngest pup in the litter, he's also the third from the last to become a parents, fathering triplets.

Kodiak (Kodi) - the youngest son of the litter and the second youngest pup, Kodi's story in the third movie is already known. Being maroon red furred and a runt in the litter, he's gone above and beyond with his father to prove himself to be strong enough to overcome his physical issues. After the events of the third movie, Kodi became more dedicated to his family rather to his job, even if he still loved his job no matter what. As he was adopted by the same man who owned the dogs who were his parents' good friends, as well as being Dusty's parents, the two have been friends since their puppy days and he'd shown his endless dedication to her. He's the first pup in the litter to become a parents, fathering a litter of four puppies.

Nunivat (Nuni) - the youngest pup in the litter who also happens to inherit the least wolf features, Nuni is known for her bright red fur, bright blue eyes and her sweet, innocent and well-meaning demeanor. Surprisingly to her family members, but her sisters the most, she also has a strong flirty side reserved for her boyfriend/mate Thunder. Like her sister, her paws are bigger than her mother's because of her father's wolf heritage. In the worst of times that shrouded Nome, Nuni was shown to be a good moral support to anyone thanks to her sweet natured side, knowing there is still good in some of them. She's also the last pup in the litter to become a parent, but she also mothered the most puppies out of all - five puppies.
