The Avengers West Coast is no more! The team was disbanded and its members all quit the Avengers in protest. But it’s all part of Tony Stark new plan: FORCE WORKS.⁣

West Coaster Wonderment has been AWOL from the team for AWHILE (to be fair, he got his own, brief, solo series in the early 90s, so he was busy). But after have some life-affirming adventures that lead to him becoming more self-assured and confident and finding his authentic self, as well as finding out that due to his powers he is functionally IMMORTAL, Wondy is ready to return to full-time duty (also his book got cancelled, soooo….). He also was sporting a nice, new costume. ⁣

So he shows up at the Avengers West Compound only to find that it is mostly smashed to bits. Looks like he missed the meetings AND the memos about this AND the team being disbanded.⁣

But ol’ Simon Williams is more confident more, so he soldiers on and just wanders around the mess and rubble shouting for his friends (confident doesn’t mean smart).⁣

Lucky for him, Iron Man answers his bellowing, as he just happened to be scavenging the compound for useful junk and maybe office supplies. Tony catches Simon up to speed on recent events but offers him a job. Which is great for Simon, because as I said: his book got canceled for low sales. Just goes to show: if you are out of work, keep your head up...because a fictional super-powered narcissist is just around the corner to be your job fairy.⁣

And don’t worry, Wondy, it’s not like they’ll kill you off immediately in the first issue of a new series just to have an edgy, dramatic moment…. *(spoiler: they do exactly that….so much for “functional immortality,” right?⁣)
