Description An animated Apo fractal butterfly with Thank You. I'm trying to learn GAP, the animation package in GIMP, but it's not very user friendly and I haven't found a decent tutorial yet. So, this was animated in Adobe Image Ready. But if anyone can tell me where there is an easy tutorial for using GAP, I would be most appreciative. I don't think I understand how it works and how it makes frames. It is NOT intuitively appealing. For one thing, if I make a transparent background and I have 4 frames (mostly to make the glitter function, the butterfly will flap with just two frames), the main butterfly (with wings expanded) always shows. I don't know how to control opacity of the individual frames. Very frustrating.

Thanks, Martina! I'm so glad you like it.

I have a feeling it's going to take me awhile to explore this territory. It's not particularly user friendly and I have a lot to learn and then I need to understand it.

I know what you mean! So many things to learn and so little time....user friendly helps a lot so if it's not that makes it harder to get motivated to learn...at least for me!!

Thanks, Lillyanna!! It could take me awhile. GAP is not easy to understand. I wonder if there's a GIMP GAP group here on dA. Maybe I can go pick their brains.

Not sure about a group. Maybe see who else makes those and chat them up
