[EDIT 7/19/09]: Fixed the white lines in the background. :3

This is pretty much my first animated emote that hasn't turned out to be a horribly epic fail. I've made several attempts, but after 7 hours of absolutely no success whatsoever, I usually just give up. >__>

Soooo I've had this idea 'bouncing around' in my head for months now, but I've been too lazy to open up Photoshop and get started on it. I would've made him bounce a little higher, but I decided to make this a simple animation that repeated itself really quickly. :3

Also, notice he lands on his head when he bounces to the right? I'm glad I haven't done that while bouncing on a trampoline, although I've certainly come close... O____O

I see white lines in the background and I don't know why they're THEEERRRRRREEEE... GRAAAAAGHL *smashes face on keyboard*

It's not supposed to, dA would have to add it to their official emote list for it to work. You can always use the thumbnail code on your journal or in a chatroom though. :3

Another awesome emote from you! Wow, you seemed to upload like crazy while I was away! Haha, now I can blame you for the explosion in my inbox. <__<

Great job on the emote Jarrett! The simple looping animation looks great, and it's really cute how it's landing on it's head. x3 Good job figuring out how to get rid of those pesky white pixels. I've had that happen to me before! :0

One thing that might have made it look a bit better is if you had the trampoline sag a little bit under it's weight. I don't know about you, but when I bounce on my trampoline it seems a little bit more... bouncier. (Although, I haven't taken it out of it's box in about two years lmfao.) In any case, I would like to see more emotes from you!

I think I only uploaded like 5 times, but that still is quite a bit for me. I tend to make artwork kinda... slowwwly. >__>

It's happened to me before, but I didn't realize they were there until I actually submitted the deviation. And I would've made the trampoline sag, but it looked awkward in such a small space. I also based it off of my friend's small trampoline, which barely sags at all when you bounce on it.

Glad you like it though! I might end up making a few more in the future if I feel up to it. :3

Well that is quite a lot for you personally.

`Droneguard has a really sweet trampoline emote! But yeah, I can see how the sagging part could have been difficult to execute. :/

How can you possibly hate trampolines? They're so fun to bounce on! 8D

My friend and I somehow managed to break his trampoline in 5th grade -- he soaked it with water before we started bouncing and the weight of the water made one of the poles bend. D:

Afraid of them? They don't bite, and you probably won't get hurt unless you literally try to faceplant off the side of the trampoline. O___O

Rondomness In reply to WolvenFlames [2009-08-08 15:22:37 +0000 UTC]

Errmmm..... How to say this... I'm fine on roller coasters when they drop and curve to the side and then do all sorts of loops and twists and such, but I'm absolutely horrified of dropping straight down. It's the same on a trampoline... I just can't handle straight drops, no matter the height.

Wait. Not true. I can jump normally with my feet, but that's about it.

Me no see white lines of evilness either.

I would suggest this for a DD if that was possible.

Right when he's about to land on his head, there's a white line that flashes across in the background.

It is possible, isn't it? Emotes get DD's all the time. I think ^Synfull and `DeMaulwurfn are in charge of emote suggestions, all you have to do is note one of them. Although I don't really think this is up to DD standards, but... THANK YOU FOR EVEN THINKING IT.

OH you fixed them before I spotted them. And I didn't mean that emotes weren't suggestible, I thought that it was impossible to suggest for DD's at all! I thought that they were randomly picked

Oh, and you're welcome.

WolvenFlames In reply to Silverwolf-1ofmany [2009-07-20 06:13:58 +0000 UTC]

No, you just have to note them saying "I thougth this deserved a DD" or something like that and they'll usually consider it. :3

Droneguard [2009-07-18 15:13:46 +0000 UTC]

Not bad for your first attempt.
White lines usually appear when you leave transparent pixels on a transparent background. Photoshop converts them into white pixels, because there are pixels or there aren't.

The transparent pixels you've used on your emote and trampoline (gradient tool) have a solid background so they stay the same.

Keep it up

Oh wow, I didn't expect to get a comment from you on this -- I've been watching you for ages.

I think it's because I tried to move the emote by selecting it and accidentally cut off some of the pixels. I've noticed that I've had the same problem when making a tablet drawing, but it should be easy enough to fix with the eraser tool.

Thanks for the advice, I really appreciate it!
