Overview: Rahaj Aswang is the king/deity of the aswangs from an unknown island, near the Philippines. Rahaj Aswang needs to refill his thirst, as every kill he does is not enough. He wants to rule the whole world with colonies of aswangs, taking over it. He has very little defence, as he prefers to hit and run strategy.

Origin: On a little known island located off the coast of the Philippines, known simply as Aswang, lives a small native tribe. Little is known of the tribe and their ways as they attack anyone foolish enough to attempt landing on their island. Boats or helicopters that get to close to the island are shot at with arrows and spears. Not wanting to invade the isolated island and expose the natives to illness they have never encountered, the Philippine government has stated that they are content to leave the island and the native Aswangians to their own devices.

Despite their habit of attacking anyone who approaches their island, the Aswangians are a very peaceful people, with an important task. Confined deep under their island is a demon known by the natives as Rahaj. Rahaj is capable of possessing humans and using them as a vessel, to prevent this, the Aswangians have a monthly ritual they perform to purify themselves and prevent Rahaj from possessing them. They attack intruders not because they are violent as a people, but because they fear Rahaj escape from captivity.

As it would happen, a foolish explorer would find his way onto the island without the Aswangians knowledge. The moment this man set foot on the island, Rahaj took possession of his body. Using his freedom, Rahaj attacked the native Aswangian people, slaughtering all but the chief and his family. He took captive the chief’s daughter, considered among their people to be the most holy of individuals, and using the body of the explorer, violated her. He kept her captive and alive until he was sure he had left her with child. When it became apparent to Rahaj that the woman was pregnant, he abandoned his vessel and entered the body of the unborn infant. For nine months, Rahaj remained within the infant, having snuffed its own soul, only leaving to possess the mother if she or anyone else attempted to harm her or the unborn child. When the child was born, the mother proclaimed the demonic looking child to be Rahaj of the Aswang, before dying of blood loss.

The child Rahaj grew quickly, towering over the remaining natives after only a few days had passed. It wasn’t long before Rahaj Aswang could properly be called a Kaiju, at which point he left the island in search of ever greater power.
