I could sit here forever wondering about what the picture means, the symbolic meaning.
You probaly dident want symbols in it, or did you?
The first thing that i tougth of was slavery...and "The Hills have Eyes"...
but i like the picture no matter what it means or dont mean.
Did you take the picture youreself?

it was actually a piece that represented getting back to the basics. the boy in the picture has no where to be and is certainly in no hurry to be anywhere other than where he is. It was influenced by a poem by Stephen Crane "In the Desert"
In the desert
I saw a creature, naked, bestial,
Who, squatting upon the ground,
Held his heart in his hands,
And ate of it.
I said, "Is it good, friend?"
"It is bitter – bitter", he answered,
"But I like it
Because it is bitter,
And because it is my heart."
thanks
(and no unfortunately I didn't take the picture myself - wish I had)
