A demisexual is a person who does not experience sexual attraction unless they form a strong emotional connection with someone. It's more commonly seen in but by no means confined to romantic relationships. Nevertheless, this term does not mean that demisexuals have an incomplete or half-sexuality, nor does it mean that sexual attraction without emotional connection is required for a complete sexuality. In general, demisexuals are not sexually attracted to anyone of any gender; however, when a demisexual is emotionally connected to someone else (whether the feelings are romantic love or deep friendship), the demisexual experiences sexual attraction and desire, but only towards the specific partner or partners.To the general public, I just call myself asexual. It's a hell of a lot easier to explain. But on a deeper understanding of myself, I'm demisexual...Which is still on the asexual spectrum.

When I first met my boyfriend, I didn't feel anything toward him. Nothing, nada, zip, zilch. The idea of having sex with him felt gross...Until 5-6 years later after getting to know him, sexual attraction snuck up and sucker-punched me in the face. And just like that, the thought of sex with him didn't seem so disgusting anymore.

...But the idea is still gross to me with everyone else.
Some random shirtless guy? Nope.
Curvy girl? Nope.
Agender person? Nope.
Trans person? Nope.
Favorite, celebrity, or fictional people? Nope.

But my boyfriend?
...Yep.

"But that's normal with everyone––"
No, it isn't. They may not admit it, but when most people see some stranger who's "attractive," they fantasize about fucking them. But like many asexuals, demisexuals don't because that feels gross.

I'm actually indifferent about sex...But I don't like the idea of doing it with other people. That's just gross to me.
And I might also be demi-sapioromantic, where I don't really like the idea of getting romantic with other people either, but people's types of intelligence is a huge sensual turn-on...
