Yesterday, ___ and I promised to meet up at her place then go to an amusement park after which I will surprise her with a gift; she doesn’t know this part though. Around ten (A.M), I walked in on ___ painting while singing to a song.

“Stupid in love by Rihanna. Why?” she answered, stuffing some paint jars in cabinets.
“It sounds like a break-up song. *gasp* Gasp! Are you going to break up with me!?” I almost scream, recoiling away from her.
“First, we never were technically going out since you never asked me. Second, even if we were going out I wouldn’t break up with you because you’re such a nice guy.”
I sighed in relief and kissed her cheek, resuming my previous position behind her. Then she started singing aloud again, but this time it was a different song.

“Hello Arthur. I’m sorry but this isn’t really the time… Because I’m with my… friend. Francis. You know him? Oh great, maybe we can go to (Random amusement park name) together! Okay, we’ll meet you there.” And with that, she hung up.
“Was that Arthur Kirkland?” I asked timidly.
She nodded proudly with a smile before asking why.
“He and I aren’t the very best of friends you see, in fact, every time we speak to each other there ends up being a fight.” I explain watching her face go from proud to distraught in an instant.
“W-why didn’t you tell me!? I would have never invited him if you told me sooner!” She cried.
“I didn’t know you two were friends. I guess I’ll just have to try to be the better man this time.” I say weakly, kissing her forehead.

The amusement park actually ended up being kind of… fun. Artie and I hardly got into fights and when we did ___ butted in, dragging either of us to a ride she randomly chose. The real fun started when Arthur left and I could give ___ her present.
