Hair tutorial :3 Me <3 hair XD

1. Sketch out the head and neck area. I like to draw the whole face before continuing onto the hair so I can see how the hair will affect the face. He looks silly bald XD...

2. Much better... What I did was add the first layer of hair on a new layer, so that the face and head below aren't effected...in case I mess up XD When making the hair don't make blocky triangle shapes, instead make quick strokes in the general direction of the hairstyle. Taiik's hair is long on the right, and shorter on the left, so my strokes followed that pattern.

3. Next I added more layers of hair strokes, making sure to carry them over the line that I drew for the head on the layer below so that his hair doesn't look plastered to his head When I was done with that I erased the head line from the other layer.

4. The last step is to go wild with the eraser XD Clean out the main portion of the hair, leaving some lines, but erasing most. Then draw the hair again, having it all originate from one point (or a part if the hair longer). Keep erasing and adding until you get the look you want, erasing more from the middle than the ends that you defined in step 3. This gives it a more layered look! Also, at this stage I add random strokes of hair to add to the volume of the hair. My last step was partially erase the eye that was covered by his hair. I can't stand it when you can see eyes perfectly behind hair >
