Description The Ghurrkan Elite Guard (The Ivory Guard) escort the casket of the assasinated Prime Minister through the streets of Boanne. The show was accompanied by a rousing speech from the Prime Ministers successor, swearing vengeance against the Shirudo for this transgression

——————

“I remember I was with my mother, as father had been called away by the military. We where well known around our district of Boanne due to my families wealth and my fathers rank, so we managed to secure a spot in the crowd a little closer to the street. I could see the casket clear as day, on the shoulders of the gleaming Ivory’s. A brown box without embellishment besides the simple carvings on its sides. I remember it made me angry.

Inside that box, my adolescent mind realized, was the body of a man. The body of a man I had seen give speeches, seen smile. The body of a man who loved his country. And now he was dead, a casualty of a war we wanted no part in. Or at least, hadn’t wanted a part in.

I hated them, I realized at that moment. Everyone around me did too, in that dead silent moment. Hated our new foe, these foreigners who thought us weak. Who struck us when we had done no wrong. Who thought we would simply roll over and capitulate.

I vowed I would prove them wrong. Single handily if need be. Those cowards, those Shirudo scum. I was filled with such patriotic vigor I was sure I would simply explode like a rocket, and the new PM had yet to give his speech.”

-Testament of 1st lt. Habul Na’ast, Veteran of the 15th Rifles

The elite guard looks neat. They have the fanciest helmets possible.

For the record the Shirudo's fight was with Karelia. North Ghurka joined the war in support of Karelia. Imagine my shock when the north ghurrkan expeditionary forces suffered losses. The shirudans fought an army of ignorant peasants drafted into the war by glory-hungry nobles.

And we kicked your guys out with that same army.

At a great cost, good sir. I admire the fighting men and women of the alliance. Their spirit and defiance fell many shirudans.

Now that I think about it, there is still a big gap over at the former state of Imania. I dunno how the fighting there went..

Tis, the tragedy of war. The lives and wealth of one side
wasted on ending of that of the other.

I believe it was a chaotic cacophony of catastrophic consequences.
