Description Before Mutant 59, there was an age of Magic, Shapeshifting, and the eternal struggle for balance between Yin and Yang. Before warships, it was a time of sword and sorcery. It was known as...

Empire of Old Luna

Book 1 "The Rise of Hate"
The Ten Empires have finished the reconstruction of the Empire of Old Luna, a proud realm which had once spanned across the stars. Under the reign of High Emperor Li Chang the Immortal and the Council, they can now turn their attention to border disputes with the Berserkers. That is the least of their problems, however. Ignorant to the warnings of the savage locals, rumors of a creeping shadow has spread across each world. Not even the central world of Orodon is safe. Worse still, there is word that Emperor Amon and the Serpentine Empire is planning an insurrection from the desert world Askarma.

Hope lies with a lone Human-at-Birth from the jungles of South America. The last of his tribe, he has been robbed of his humanity, abducted from Eden, and left to rot in prison, ignorant of the role he will play. Under the tutelage of Li Chang's chief agent, the Nightwalker, he will embark on a journey spanning the Universe to learn the truth of Amon's intent and the evil which slithers towards their doorstep...

Apocalypse Worship is one of two practices of magic that are popular with some Berserker Tribes. The first cultists were discovered only 20 years ago by the Ten Empires and the practice has grown increasingly popular. It is a type of religion which centers around the worship of the Wraiths of Apocalypse. Through tribute and pleasing these Wraiths, they are offered boons and powers and even tools which symbolize their spheres of influence.

While argued as beings of evil or at least ones with ulterior motives, the Berserkers do not view them as such. They see them as misunderstood Gods who only desire to be worshipped as they were before. There are exceptions to this; Kaa, for instance, is viewed by the Lunari as the Christian equivalent of the Devil. Others are viewed as benevolent gods, such as Pheyd and Kuwaek. Entire cults and factions comprised of Lunari and Zodians have been established across the Ten Empires and continue to grow. Many cite them as responsible for acts of monstrosity, but the Council has refused to act on this yet, disregarding them as isolated events. For the moment and to the grievance of the opposition, Apocalypse Worship is perfectly legal.

That being said, it stands perfectly within reason for Nightwalker to recruit the help of one of the Nightwitch Sisterhood, a league of mercenaries who worship Kuwaek, Wraith of Envy, Manipulation, And Treachery. In truth, Invidia was a close childhood friend of the Nightwalker before she was brought into the cult of branded cutthroats. Though she could have easily refused, she has at least made it apparent that her Patron shares a common enemy with the party. Who it may be, it is not known, but as their interests align, she has volunteered to embark on their journey without a contractual agreement. While the Nightwalker trusts her with his life and while she may be cooperative with the rest of the group, can a scorpion still be trusted?
