Description
This female wolf wearing a kimono was my fifth and last image in the series of Japanese Woodblock-like prints. This composition, along with the previous four posters each feature two vertical banners filled with Japanese calligraphy characters. The top most banner is the title of the image written in Japanese, as closely as I could get to the English translation seen above. The bottom banner is a translation of my own name, ‘Randal Painter.’ The other two small symbols featured in each composition are meant to duplicate the Japanese printmakers ‘chopmarks,’ with one being a stylized version of N. Greyman’s initials.
