Description ok, I new at digital painting, so I'm still learning and experimenting (well, I'm new at drawing and painting at all, but that's another story)

I used a reference photo for the pose, by [link]

hope you like it, tell me what you think. I would appreciate ideas for the background, I always have problems with the background

I am blown away that this is your first piece! Its simply fantastic! Her cheeks are rounded out in a realistic way, and I simply love the way her hair shimmers and contrast's in the light/darkness. And like MorenaSr said, I want her hair.

my goodness if you're just starting out then I say look out world! Very,very good! The only thing that jumps out at me is is seems as though the whites of her eyes aren't quite white. (Could be my display though) Impressive work though.
