Yes, I can see details of the mirror, wall and floor through it. (Just in case, no, I'm not high )
Now that you mention hands... I've had this idea for several years, of a photo of a hand stretching out to a shadow of a hand, all against the background of a wall. It had a strong meaning to me - connection to an otherworldly being, and/or someone long gone. Since I will hardly ever get round to using the idea, you can use it if you like, probably even for a card, such as The Lovers, The Devil, or Death.

it's weird... i wonder if anyone else can see it that way? there was no intent to make the figure (myself) look transparent O.o
maybe some people see me as half invisible, haha
thanks for the idea... hands, and in general models, are my weak point.

As far as I know, it is said you can see someone else there than yourself. Though I think the reason may differ in various places. Also, looking into a mirror at midnight is a part of some divination practices, such as the traditional Russian bathhouse ritual of seeing future husbands.

i think i remember this now... one of the first 'superstitions' i heard about as a kid... i wouldn't look into mirrors at night, lol. I think it might have also been about seeing your true self.
you ever tried it?

Tried looking into it at night? Of course, nearly every day. I turn in late, so I happen to pass the mirrors on the walls many times just as I walk from room to room. When I realise it's midnight, I feel tempted to gaze into it, even, as if testing my courage. I'm surprised I never see anything strange there, as I've seen much stuff, especially here in my old house... But I'm certainly relieved as well, lol.
Besides that, I generally have an odd temptation to stare into mirrors. Not because I like my face - I hate it, lol, - it's the mirror itself that draws me in, not what it reflects. Though I can also be trying to see my true self, yes, but I only manage to get a glimpse. It's a saddening experience.
But the weirdest thing is, I always end up breaking them. It's not typical of me, I don't break other things, but mirrors just don't survive around me.
