Shenandoah took comfort from Savoy and Raban as they came to her side, their words soft and their comfort gentle. She felt Savoy’s head on her body and she leaned into the blue she-wolf. She didn’t hear much else, using a dark brown arm to wipe her wet face, and opening her eyes. She looked into Raban’s shiny blue gaze. He had saved her life, even if unknowingly. She felt desperately upset that he had. She closed her eyes again, pressing even harder against Savoy.
”Look to none other than the traitor that stands before you,” That made Shenandoah look up sharply, her green eyes wide. She followed Alar’s gaze to Rhaegan. Then she looked back at Alar in disbelief. She got to her paws suddenly, outraged. ”That’s impossible! Rhaegan protected my mother and I, he is my father’s brother same as Enzo! He is loyal!” The young she-wolf looked

AND HERE WE GO
Rhaegan has, at long last, reached rock bottom.

But I mean, it's not like it can get any worse...

Alar has accused Rhaegan of King Renier and Queen Wren's murder. The Black Watch sides with their new Regent. Even though some doubt Rhaegan's guilt, they are unwilling or unable to compromise their positions to defend a lost cause. Shen leads the rallying cry and Rhae's own brother strikes the first blow. Hopelessly outnumbered, Rhaegan is beaten to the brink of death.

Rhae is broken and utterly betrayed. He thinks back to his mother, his earliest recollection, and how she walked out on him. Since then, it seems his entire life has been one betrayal after another.

He is not glad to have survived. He wishes, more than anything, that he was dead
