I finished my Discord skully study! (I posted the WIP to my scraps).They aren't perfect and there might be some inconsistencies here and there but I'm happy with them.
I love doing things like this. The first time I did something like this was with the character Minion from Megamind (which I never posted here, but on a Megamind fan site, I should post my old Megamind fanart here...).
Thinking about making a Discord skeleton next

I know what you mean! It has a mind of it's own, haha. At one point in the season finale it even poked out from his bottom lip instead of his top so it pointed up instead of down - 24.media.tumblr.com/26939b99a1…

Very fantastic design! The skull is very plausible and is easily recognizable as Discord's. I love how you incorporated it into having both dragon and horse anatomy (as Discord's species name, draconequus, literally means "dragon horse").

Thank you, I'm glad you like it and think it's recognizable as Discords. However, I'm not sure what you mean by me incorporating dragon anatomy. I'm aware that Discord has dragon in him, but for his head I purely referenced horse skulls, except for his fang, antler, and horn. I wanted to only use a horse reference because it is stated he has "the head of a pony", and so I wanted it recognizable as such. Discord's anatomy is more of a collage or mixmatch, than a blend in my opinion
I guess it just so happens that horse heads already look a bit beastly, especially with their "wolf teeth" (the sharp teeth between the molars and front teeth), combined with Discords distorted head shape, make his skull look dragon-esque

As someone who has been studying dinosaurs for 15 years, I see that a lot of dragons throughout culture reference their skulls to make their dragons. They have the larger eye sockets and the long, sloping heads. But yes, it is obvious most of it is horselike, and I commend you on such. I cannot wait to see how you incorporate the skeleton, that is going to be quite interesting.

Wow, you did a really good job coming up with an actually plausible skull shape
This makes me want to draw a full on Discord anatomy reference with muscles and internal organs. I don't know if I'll do it, but do you mind if I do just in case? xD

And no I don't mind at all! Feel free! And use this as reference if you'd like! I decided to go through with making a full skeleton drawing and I'm working on it right now. I'd love to see what you'd come up with, and with how well you make references I'd bet it would turn out great if you decide to make it. I thought about making muscle drawings after completing his skeleton, but I'll probably focus on drawing him realistically in his skin first.

isnt his fang just an ordinary fang we have as a humans but bigger? Why do you think it grow above his teeth?

This is just my interpretation. I've based his skull on a horses skull, and since in the show it appears his flat teeth continue behind his fang (like in the image of him singing above), there isn't a space in his teeth for his fang like there would be if it were set normally. I decided that would make the most sense, and I based his fang off of a lion's fang.
