Description
I looooove Spock so much so I thought I would draw him (the movie is amazing so if you haven't seen it you must), please tell me what you think. I really struggled doing his skin, I can't do stubble and stuff
but I think it's okay 
Edit: Decided I had to soften the shading on the nose when it moves black to lighter, looked too sudden.

The contrasts on this piece are beautifull! the black is so intense. I allso like the brown strokes in the shadown on its shirt, gives it allot of texture.
Spock is great, though i must say i like him better when portrait by leonard nimoy.

I used 8/9B graphite pencils, so the black only looks good in the right light, otherwise it goes all shiny and doesn't look as good but thankfully the scanner can be adjusted to maintain the likeness but not the shine. I think I will try charcoal soon though because it doesn't shine though it does smudge

maybe you could try Siberian crayon, its like charcoal but compressed so it wont smudge so much.

yea its really nice stuff, its available in different degrees i believe just like pencils, there only much darker, takes some getting used to..also yo might want to use a fixative afterwards...better tryout before using on a piece.

I feel so amature. This is totally awe-inspiring. Ah, well, I think you nailed it. His skin looks flawless, the shadows and highlights are MIND-BLOWING, and his expression is perfect! God, I love Star Trek.
