Nudibranchs are one of my favorite things to find on a dive, and Spanish shawls are one of the coolest ones to find in California. They are simply awesome, in part because they feed upon sea anemones, and then incorporate their victim's toxins into their own bodies. In this case, saying, "You are what you eat," is not a bad thing.Photo taken at Terranea, Calfornia.

Oh my goodness...They have nudibranchs in cali? The colours...they are fantastic. I mean that brilliant purple and orange against the dull browns of the coral...simply amazing.

They have plenty of nudibranchs in Cali, but they are usually pretty hard to find. This particular one is probably my favorite, because it is so photogenic.
