Description Xaayer the Grey Knight's story is below. Note that I call Nulgath "Miltinous" because I was part of beta and alpha so his beginning is from the very start of the game in October of '08 and this story was written in 2010.

Xaayer Kal-Rheef was born to a middle-class family in Willowcreek. Nothing very special happened in Willowcreek. Sometimes the Dwakels would cause problems, but those problems were never extended to include violence. Then Sepulcher's undead army ran amok through the town during a campaign. The undead stayed but two days, yet left only death and sadness in their wake. Alteon's forces drove the monsters back quickly, but Xaayer's parents were killed in the confusion. Sad and alone, young Xaayer set out from the town in search of purpose.

During his journies, he encountered a girl near his age named Kimantha, a runaway of noble blood from Swordhaven. The two developed a strong bond and eventually found their way to the Citadel of the Grand Inquisitors. Very quickly the two friends rose through the ranks. Kimantha became a Grand Inquisitor herself, while Xaayer, favoring a more adventerous role, became a just and respected Captain. The two lead a great many crusades against mages and undead alike, quenching Xaayer's thirst for revenge against the skeletal foes many times over. He even had brushes with Miltonius a few times, but ended up secretly helping the Abyss General set up the portal to Tercessuinotlim.

Soon though, Xaayer began to question why certain mages were captured and not killed. Many nights he sat with one of Miltonius' void knights and the two discussed life. He also pondered the use of the Great Inquisitor's little red book. After doing some detective work he had learned from frequent stays at Sleuth Hound, Xaayer discovered the true vile plot of the Inquisitors.

Xaayer tried to warn Kimantha, but he was branded a heretic and bannished before he could speak with her. Xaayer realized he would have to lead a resistance against the Inquisitors at their front door and, with the aid of a rescued mage-friend Murray, Xaayer began a greulling quest against time to rally all heroes and heroines in Lore. From the Northernlands to the dragon's lair, Xaayer gathered an army. Along this journey, he encountered three new friends.

He met Baltimo in Shadowfall. She was a battlemage and was immediately against him due to his allegiance to good, but after proving his power and trust, she decided to aid him by going to Sepulchure and requesting that the Inqisitors, who had been a thorn in the Shadowscythe's side anyway, be ended through an alliance with Alteon. Of course the Lord of the Shadowscythe scoffed at the notion and Xaayer moved on to his next target, much to the disappointment of Baltimo.

In the peaceful Dwarfhold, Xaayer encuntered Mhkat, a renegade of the once-powerful Dragonknights. Because Mhkat didn't participate in the war the Dragonknights had with the Dragonslayers, Mhkat was the sole survivor of the Dragonknights. Feeling lost and without a purpose, Mhkat gladly join Xaayer's crusade against the Inquisitors. After doing some snooping around, Xaayer came to realize that the Inquisitors were just the first step; a test to see how well Good and Evil could work together against a common goal. He could also see that there was a much more sinister plan about to be revealed. He sent Mhkat out to finished calling the heroes, then raced back to Shadowfall to warn the leader.

He arrived just as Baltimo was packing her items into her pack. She informed him that the Shadowscythe was about to march on Swordhaven and strike. Xaayer relayed his knowledge to Baltimo and instructed her to wait for Mhkat to return before going to Swordhaven. Baltimo wished him luck and Xaayer made his way to the citadel. Murray informed him that heroes had gathered but the attack on Swordhaven called every last one of them back. Xaayer stared at the citadel in the distance and saw purple flashes. He realized that the Grand Inquisitor's plan was coming to fruition and there was nothing he could do at that moment so he rushed to Swordhaven.

After fighting off countless undead, he entered into the king's chamber to warn Alteon that Sepulchure was not the real threat in this war. Xaayer never got the chance. Sepulchure broke through the locked doors and killed the guards. After a short speech, the undead ruler and the good king engaged each other in epic combat.

Eventually they realized they were too evenly matched and Alteon turned to Xaayer for help. But Xaayer never got the chance to help. Drakath made his entrance and both kings were tossed aside. Sepulchure, now infected with Chaos, looked Xaayer in the eye and realized that he had been right . With a final battle cry, Sepulchure charged Drakath.. and was killed by Drakath's Claw of Azathoth. Drakath then downed the Shadowscythe Empire's kingdom into a mountain range. Xaayer's thoughts immediatle rushed to Baltimo and Mhkat. But he did not dwell long on the two as Drakath made his escape.

Xaayer turned the the wounded King Alteon and requested that his heroes be sent to the Citadel as there was a more pressing issue there. Though wounded, Alteon agreed. On his way out the castle, a warrior in a starsteel helm with a strange glowing blade approeached him. Xaayer readied his polearm to attack, but the warrior revealed himself to be Kcal, a strange adventurer who held a contract with Miltonius. He informed Xaayer that the rogue Inquisitors had done all they could to drive the forces back but they were in dire need of help.

Xaayer arrived and watched as by the numbers the heroes arrived, even many of the villains who just hours ago had been against the heroes came in numbers to drive out the Inquisitors. Xaayer was relieved when his friends all appeared unharmed.

Baltimo and Mhkat were leading a Shadowscythe Strike Force. Kcal gathered the remaining Inquisitor rogues and Xaayer lead the forces of good in a powerful attack against the Inquisitors. A large war ensued. Xaayer saw Kimantha again, but they were now on opposite ends of the sword.

The fight that clashed between the two former friends was a bitter one. Xaayer beat her, but refused to kill her. Kimantha looked into the room she had guarded and saw the Great Inquisitor summoning Devil Fiends, distorted amalgamations and cast offs similar to Miltonous' own fiends. Seeing the error of her ways, Kimantha turned to Xaayer and kissed him good bye before running to the fray of daemons, a holy hand grenade in hand. She died in the explosion. In a rage, Xaayer flung himself at a leading fiend named Belrot and, with the aid of two other Inquisitor defectors, slew Belrot the Fiend.

At the end of the war, all 666 fiends were slain and the Great Inquisitor was mortally wounded. Not wanting to face trial or any other punishment, he threw himself into the portal from which the Fiends had been summoned. Xaayer buried Kimantha next to his parents in Willowcreek.

The Inquisitors were in shambles and looking for a new leader. Xaayer stepped up to the plate and took a firm hold of the Inquisitors, renaming them the Neo-Inquisitor Order (NIO). Acting now as powerful ambassadors for justice, the NIO does not target magic, but all evils in Lore, magical or not. Alteon enlists the aid of the NIO to fight along side his pactagonal knights and the undead army.

Xaayer was wary of Gravelyn at first, but soon took a liking to the Doom Knight Female even empathizing with her at times her father was mentioned.

Xaayer has now given up his position as the face and head of the Neo-Inquisitor Order in favor of leading the Knights of Nostalgia full time. The position of Great Inquisitor has been bestowed upon an underling by the name Shademan12, the 11th warrior of the Shademan clan, who was sent by the Celestial Sandknights of the desert, and he is now a powerful member of the Knights of Balance. Kcal, the first member to set the standard of the types of weapons Knights of Balance are to use, acts as the Order's ambassador to foreign lands as Baltimo trains the new recruits to the Order as well as actas as an ambassador to Gravelyn.

Because of his experience in the world, he has developed a cynical and sarcastic attitide to life but will still valiantly fight for truth.

"But we hold no regrets nor tears. Let the whole of Lore forget us and strike us into obscurity. But no matter what, Time will remember us. For even these civilizations will fall and their knowledge will be lost to history. And Time will remember them, but not the way Time remembers us. And they wont return. But we will. Because we are ideals, we are the quintessence of neutrality and justice embodied, we are legends, we are the Knights of Balance." -Xaayer the Grey Knight.

I know I'm being a tad bit picky about this but...what happened to Mhkat?

Besides that, a very well thought out story you have here

He's doing his own thing lol, not technically a member of the order yet. More like a rogue member or honorary member... like Batman to the Justice League.

Thanks xD Yeah, it is long... I'm a writer as I am an artist
The chest is supposed to be weird because I love asymmetry. Over one breast is a normal plate of armor while the other breast is covered in a rather dragon's claw-like armor
