Aaaaand that’s how I lost the ga- *SLAP*
Jk. But that pretty much sums up my current situation right now.
I’m very sorry for the last few weeks of absence. This summer has turned out a lot busier than I expected, and it looks as though things just got busier for me.
Some of you remember I talked about my college dilemma with SJSU and my decision to attend a different college (Cogswell, Expressions, or Long Beach University). I’m glad to say after a few months of research and visiting each college campus, I’ve made my final decision. When it came down to it I made the decision based on economics, and I’ve chosen to go with Long Beach University. It would be financially easier for me to attend Long Beach, as it would cost me more than twice the amount to attend Expressions or Cogswell. If money wasn’t an object I would’ve chosen Expressions since it has a great work environment and higher hiring rates. However, I don’t want to put me or my family through any financial burdens. The next available term I can apply for is Spring of 2017, and the applications for that open in the middle of August.
Now that I’ll be attending Long Beach, there was one more requirement that I didn’t fill yet for applications: taking the 2nd class for Art History. So, I’m currently taking an online Art History class to meet that requirement. Although, the application for Spring 2017 is the middle of August, and the only online class I could get into was through BYU (which has a reputation for getting grades to students weeks late) which means I’ll need to finish a whole semester’s worth of a class in less than a month.
This also means that any bit of free time I did have is now taken up with school work. Moments when I had precious time to doodle and make art are now filled with reading textbooks, watching lectures, and taking notes. So, I’m afraid I’ll have to go on another hiatus for uploading art and responding to comments. This is why I haven’t been able to upload anything from the Sonic Revolution convention that happened a few weeks ago (or Fanime for that matter). I just haven’t had the time to compile the pictures & sketches.
I’m not 100% certain about this, but there may be a moment when I’ll be able to make stuff to upload again. Once this online class is over I won’t have to worry about schoolwork for another semester. And my situation with work may change too. Recently, the company I work for (Snag Proof) was bought out by another company, and will change locations from Fremont to San Jose. If I go with the company that will add another hour of travel time to my 4 hours of travel time each day, and I don’t want to do that. So, chances are when the company switches locations I won’t be going with them. The company won’t be moving until maybe August or September, so I’ll still be working with the company for a couple more months. Soooo, I might have time to do artsy stuff after the move.
……………………………..
Before I wrap up here, I’d like to say an apology to anyone who may be reading. Lately I’ve felt like I’ve made promises that I haven’t been able to keep. There’s been moments when I thought I had the free time to do different various things, but then life fills my agenda with other things that toss my previous plans out the window. Not being able to work on the projects I wanted or responding to comments has made me a little depressed lately, and it has also sometimes left me unmotivated. I’m sorry if I haven’t been true to my word, or if I’ve let you guys down. I’m truly sorry.
I’ve tried to make a point of always keeping my promises, and I have a deep desire to do so. Life has a funny habit of messing up my plans. There will be moments when I’ll have the time to do art, and there will be times when life completely fills my schedule. I know God will give me the strength to carry on, everyday I remind myself that he has plans to prosper me and not to harm me, and that I can do all things through him who gives me strength.
The projects I’m currently involved with I still have a desire to continue and finish. It may take me longer to do them than expected, but the motivation to finish it is still there.
Thank you guys for reading another lengthy description of mine. Even if I don’t get to responding to comments here, I’ll try my best to read all of them. And as always, thank you everyone for staying patient with me.
