Well, I don't think hugging Zira is a good idea. 
She isn't the kind of person(or lion) I'd hug(she looks too scary), though she is certainly one of the coolest charakters in TLK.

Don't be scared of her, she may look scary, but she is really very sweet and friendly, I know because she is my best friend, she loves hugs and I hug her all the time,and she loves humans. She is really my 5th favorite lioness, but I think she is so awesome.
