Description Played with a new coloring and shading style in this a bit. I like it! Background is also a bit better created, as well as the pretty light rays. And of course, a big magnificent dragon posing for us. :3

This is one of my favorite drawings I've done to date! I had a lot of fun making it ^-^

And here's a short story I wrote for this as well. Enjoy!

~~~
"The growth of the plantlife that decorates these dragons is highly dependent of their environment and their health. A healthy one will be a deep and saturated green color, and any blossoming flowers that may sprout on its horns and wings, and tail (and occasionally along its back, in some cases) will be vibrant in color and lively. Its entire structure will be overall sturdier than one that hasn't seen sunlight often, or one unable to feed adequately."
"Its size is also dependent on the amount of years the dragon has lived. Elder dragons may have a darker green coat, rougher bark, and greater wings and horns, while younger ones may have a smoother texture to their skin/bark, and show brighter colors. These dragons also go through the seasonal cycles, and may loose much of their coat during the autumn and winter seasons. While some may see this as unfortunate during the harder climates of the seasons, these dragons are just as resilient as the trees around them, and the harsh climates serve to only toughen their hide over time. In some cases, forest dragons have been known to even keep their coat year round, which can assist in camouflage and keeping warm during those times. Regardless, dragons are generally warm creatures from the immense amount of burning magic in their bodies, and the more gentle ones often don't mind sharing a cave with other wildlife or anyone who may find themselves lost after a snowstorm.
The dragon depicted in this image is around 160 centuries old. This species of dragon's age is yet to be accurately recorded, as they are not as common as other species, and of the few interviewed and observed have either been unable to recall their age, or show traits of living even before recorded history. "
Comments from the artist:
When we asked the dragon depicted here, he replied with: "There was a point in time I realized counting the years was no longer important. Then the decades. Then centuries. I am grateful you have been able to approximate my age now, however I feel as though it is but an insignificant fact in history."
After finishing our lovely conversation, he also had this to add: "This "tea" that you are able to brew from leaves is quite astonishing. Its like water, but sweeter. Quite delicious!"
What a delightful design! You've really done a good job including all the intricate details and having energy left to create a fitting background for it. Beautiful work!
