Description
You were quite new to the Task Force when the Kira case had begun, but despite the dangers of such a case and despite the fact of being new, you still felt it right to stick around. Even when everyone else was slowly starting to leave one by one, resigning from the case, you continued to stay. Slowly as time passed eventually you found that it was soon just you, six other officers, the chief’s son—Light—and the mysterious detective known only as L working on the case. If you were being honest, you didn’t really care much for L, not particularly liking his attitude or how he presented himself. In fact, he annoyed you, but you opted to keep your mouth shut and put up with him for the sake of solving the Kira case.
Even though you didn’t like L all that much, the opposite could be said for him. In fact, he found you to be quite intriguing—more or less fascinating really. Day in and day out he would occasionally find himself just watching you from the corner of his eye as you all worked. His heart soaring every time you looked his way and offered a nervous smile or spoke with him. You, of course, attempted to be polite towards him seeing how he was your elder…but, sometimes it was hard to do that with the constant way he stared at you.
With the constant scowls and low huffs, he’d give whenever any of the other members on the Task Force approached you. At the current moment, you found yourself neatly tucked away into the corner booth of a small café with Light, Misa, and—of course—L. Misa was a bubbly little thing you found as she cheerfully told you and L all about her and Light’s relationship and just how perfect it was. The young man in question didn’t say anything and instead only offered strained smiles and curt nods. You were barely even listening, instead focused on slowly stirring your coffee around while attempting to ignore the coal colored eyes that stared you down from across the table.
It didn’t take you long to quickly excuse yourself under the guise of needing to use the restroom in your own attempt to put some distance between you and L. Though, while on your way towards the washroom you were stopped by the sound of a familiar, soothing voice calling your name out from behind.
“[Your Name]?”
“[Male Friend]!” you couldn’t help the way your face lit up as you turned to face your old friend back from your college days. A playful smile seemed to tug at his lips upon hearing you say his name and it wasn’t long before you both struck up a friendly chat with one another. But once the friendly chatter had started it all too quickly came to an end as soon as you both shared a quick hug with one another before suddenly jumping away from each other—startled by the sound of a low growl from behind you followed by your body suddenly being yanked backward into someone’s chest. “R-Ryuzaki?” you were quite baffled by the detective’s actions, slowly becoming embarrassed as you realized that people were now starting to stare. [Male Friend] was taken aback by the raven-haired man’s appearance, hesitantly questioning his actions.
L did not answer though, only huffing in irritation before he started to drag you towards the café’s entrance. Dumbfounded by this sudden turn of events, you were quick to shoot glances towards Misa and Light who were both still seated and just equally as dumbfounded as you were by the detective’s sudden change in attitude. Though you did spot the slight curious look in Light’s eyes before you were fully dragged out of the café. Once outside, very few people barely even bothered to look at you and the raven-haired man that dragged you along behind him—in fact, most of them were quick to turn their heads elsewhere and move to the side to avoid getting involved in whatever was happening. Even the people inside the café that had once been watching the two of you had slowly started to advert their gazes back down towards their drinks while occasionally peering out the window and watched as the two of you walked further and further away.
It wasn’t long before L suddenly made a sharp turn into a nearby alleyway, instantly pushing you up against the wall of the brick building in such a quick and fluid motion that you couldn’t help but hiss as the back of your head snapped back and hit against the wall. Your back slowly arching upwards as well due to the rough, uncomfortable surface of the brick pressing right up against it.
“What the hell was that?! What’s wrong with you?!” you couldn’t help but snap the second your shock wore off as you rubbed at the back of your now throbbing skull. Patiently you waited for a response, but instead of getting one you were met with rough lips harshly pressing against your own and a tongue forcefully shoving itself into your mouth.
Naturally, you struggled as your nose scrunched up and your eyebrow knitted together as you harshly shoved the detective off of you. Almost as if on instinct, you slapped him the second his lips were no longer connected to your own—you slapped him as hard as you could that it had his head looking the other way as you silently stood there fuming, attempting to find the right words to express your disgust and anger towards the man. But, that frustration of yours soon disappeared in a single yelp until you found yourself desperately attempting to gasp for air the moment a pair of hands wrapped themselves around your neck and started to apply pressure to your windpipe. Instantly you started to claw at the pale hands that were cutting off your air supply, fear and panic instantly taking over the moment the edges of your vision started to fade before finally, you felt relief wash over you as he let go. Dropping to the ground, you grabbed hold of your throat, coughing and sputtering as you attempted to greedily suck in as much air as you could to refill your lungs with the surrounding oxygen that it had been denied not mere seconds ago.
“Do let this serve as a mere lesson for you, [Your Name]” L said, bending down to be at eye level with you, unable to stop the smirk that spread across his features the moment he spotted that fearful gaze within your eyes. “You belong to me and only me, dear.”
“What—?” your heartbeat seemed to just stop upon hearing him before suddenly picking up in speed the second he pressed his forefinger against your lips to shush you. Slowly and almost tenderly he pressed his forehead against yours, forcing you to fully look into the black abyss that he called his eyes—an abyss that shined with lust and possessiveness, all emotions that caused your body to instantly tense up.
“If you choose to refuse me, I will do everything in my power to make sure that you’ll never see your family and friends ever again for as long as I live” it was almost eerie how calm his tone was as he spoke to you in a gentle whisper. “It would not be hard to convince those around us that you are the second Kira nor to come up with a good lie to do so, it’s your choice. Choose me and continue living a normal life or refuse and say goodbye to all you know” your throat tightened, wanting to protest that his choices were unfair. You didn’t want to be with him, nor did you want to be executed for crimes that you did not commit.
“I’m…” you sucked in a deep breath, releasing it in a shaky sigh as you attempted to gather yourself and hold back any tears that wanted to well up in your eyes. “I’m…y-yours” you choked the words out with a heavy heart, wanting to just cry the moment you were pulled into a tight hug as the detective soon started to run his fingers through your hair.
“I love you” he purred, happily nuzzling his face into the crook of your neck as he continued to hug you closer towards him. His words only drew a choked sob from you.
A/N: I’m really sorry that it’s short and if it’s not all that great. I really did try my best on this one, so I hope you all enjoyed it.
