Description This is Shi. I adopted her as number 5, from ~morzack117 .

At first I led her up into a confirmation show stand, then I watched her trot around.

Once I saw the row of fangs in her mouth, I knew I couldn't use a normal bridle, as the bit would have no function and damage her teeth.

And she seems to be very social, neighing out loudly (right into my ear) as I walk her pass other animals.

At first I only did the top confirmation show position, but I ended adding more scenes with Suni in it, so this took longer than I had planed.

I just thought of something...what about vex and pred?! Does she stay with them anymore?

Vex have moved out to take care of his daughter.
Pred have I not seen much from in years. But Suni would still share house with him.

I've had horses do that to me. Get right up in my ear and whinny as loud as they can Almost as bad as being tromped on. "Oh look, you left your foot in front of my hoof."

XenoPredDragon In reply to Solomen [2012-05-11 02:35:58 +0000 UTC]

I've experienced that too, que why I drew it here.
And to me, it's always the right foot that gets stepped on.

I'm still growing out a toenail on my left foot from where a filly stepped back onto my big toe last year.
For some reason young horses think its funny to try to steal my shoes. They've figured out I have "fake hooves" and want to expose the conspiracy

Ouch! That sounds nasty, glad to hear you're recovering.
Ah yes, once had a little filly that found it fun to try and pull out my shoelaces. They are seeing through our disguise.

Do U think Shi is faster than other horses?Considering the fact that she has toes instead of hooves?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

XenoPredDragon In reply to 94revolver [2012-04-19 03:00:04 +0000 UTC]

I honestly don't think so, I know having hoofed padding to run on is much more resistant than the padding on paws. But then again so is it an extraterrestrial equine, so it might have grown up with a different environment.

94revolver In reply to XenoPredDragon [2012-04-19 19:38:52 +0000 UTC]

Perhaps.I think Shi seems to be built for difficult terrain though.Judging by her skin tone and physical features.I could be wrong but Im just guessing.

I know, I was excited about it too.
And when I sketched her I drew hoofs, I am bit too found of drawing normal horses so this turned out to be a challenge going outside of the normal features.

Harusarchus In reply to XenoPredDragon [2012-04-18 07:38:56 +0000 UTC]

It deffinetly is a challenge xD but, well, I don't like horses without hooves xD Even my monster horses all have hooves xD

Draikar [2012-04-17 03:57:24 +0000 UTC]

That turned out really well. I'm glad you added the extra images.

Shouldn't take Suni too long to figure out a bridle that will work. She may consider ear plugs, though.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

XenoPredDragon In reply to Draikar [2012-04-17 23:25:16 +0000 UTC]

Yeh, it looked a bit too simple and empty if I had not.

She'll get something worked out, just you wait and see. And where would she plug those anyway? I am sure she'll find a solution to that as well.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Draikar In reply to XenoPredDragon [2012-04-18 03:45:28 +0000 UTC]

Interesting point on the ears. I suppose the next best solution is to try not to stand too close to the head.

I do hope you're planning on drawing more pictures. I'd love to see what she does for the bridle, not to mention the activities she does with the horse.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

XenoPredDragon In reply to Draikar [2012-04-19 03:59:16 +0000 UTC]

That would be the best, yes.

And I have not planed to continue any more sequence art of Shi & Suni, thought I guess you are not the only one with these question in mind.
I have no clue how to solve the bridle. But riding a horse is something I've done for 18 years in real life, so I have plenty of knowledge of what riding activities to do.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Draikar In reply to XenoPredDragon [2012-04-19 17:28:27 +0000 UTC]

Well, it's up to you, of course, but if you do decide to draw more of them, I'll look forward to it.

I admit I don't have much horse riding experience, but I think I may have heard of a bridle type that doesn't actually use a bit. Perhaps that would work?

I'm a bit jealous of your 18 years of experience. I don't get to be near horses very often, but I always enjoy the experience when the opportunity does arise. They're beautiful creatures. I one day to own one. For now...it's visiting friends and ...maybe I should try drawing them more.
