how did you hide the taskbar? and what is the thing in the corner (shows the system uptime + shutdown info)

Right-click Taskbar > Properties > Check box labeled "Auto-hide taskbar."

The thing in the bottom-right corner is from a program called Rainmeter .

The skin I used for the system uptime is called Vista Rainbar , and the Config is called "Power" with the theme option 4.
