"Ember? You still in here?"

Everheart gently pushed the door open and saw a sleeping Ninetales, lying on two mattresses and snug underneath a pink blanket. He smiled at his partner's sleeping form, but he also couldn't help but feel a bit concerned.

It's been one day since Ember first came home from the past, and even since she got back, all she wanted to do was sleep. Of course, she did let the kids greet her before going straight to bed, and she did wake up now and then to eat her meals, but after that, she'd just go right back to sleep again.

Everheart didn't think much of it. He was just happy she finally came home.

"Ember?" Everheart called, recieving a sleepy moan in reply. "Listen...I'm gonna go out for a while, and when I come home, I'll make you some tea, okay?"

Ember moaned again, and Everheart couldn't really tell if she was just moaning because she was half-asleep or really answering hm, but he decided to take it as a yes for the time being.

With that, the Eevee gave his partner a kiss on the cheek, causing her to smile in her sleep, before exiting the room.

Little did he know that he'd be gone longer than he had planned.
