Description
A young killer whale spyhops.It had been awhile since I'd played with paints, so I thought it was time to get them back out and get more practice in! I tried using a blending medium for the first time, and I really liked the extended drying time - it really did make a difference on the whale. I still hate how I do water, though - I just can't find a way of doing it that I really like.

Well Kristen you have a special talent and I am glad I stumblesd upon it.
I chose water colors as mt medium for 2011. Maybe next year acrilics.

I think you did a lovely job on this painting! 
As for suggestions, i'd recommend adding new colours to your painting. Instead of using darker hues of blue, throw some green or purple in there. Use cool colours for the shadows, and find some warm colours for the highlights on the water. The Orca could also have a darker purple for shadows, and a light blue for highlights. Instead of using and black, try to focus on creating your own version of black from primary colours.

hehe thanks i guess my 4 eyes pays off :coughs: I was only guessing because i know you go to swc more then other Aquarums thats how i knew it was her. At first i thought it might be kiska's calf. good thing i picked the right one and got it right.
