I'm the queen of all titles that suck :b No seriously, I had this project stored on my lap under this title for SO LONG, that I am unable to think of a better one
I'm not entirely pleased with this, the background just really, really sucks. -.- I won't complain on his royal gorgeousness 'cause I'm actually very content about how he turned out (although he looks A BIT female XD).

I guess it was never established when exactly he became Pharaoh, but maybe I thought the same as you, since I didn't add the necklace or the crown... To be honest I never really thought about it, my hand just drew, without telling my brain what's going on xD

It depends, I place Atem about 17 in the World of Memory. In the manga his father has passed away about five years earlier and had been pharaoh for a time, the boy king.
In the anime, they had him newly crowned. So it depends on which version you draw for.
Anyway, it really is cute and that is all that matters.

I actually prefer the Manga, since it's the original in my opinion, but I guess I didn't read it as thoroughly as you did (~.^) Let's say this is the time before his father died and he became Pharaoh. My opinion might be biased by the countless fanfictions I've read, but I believe he didn't have much time to relaxe as Pharaoh, and he is doing just that.
