A project I started to draw all the Princess Zeldas ever.

This is my favorite Zelda personality-wise She actually has a lot of character, since Link knows her more. Although I think Link and the king of Hyrule treated her pretty cruelly.... "Guess what, tomboy? You're a princess! Now you have to wear this pink dress and make up! Oh, and we're just gonna lock you in here with no food or water until Link is done messing around while he's supposed to be saving the world!" I also think it's ironic that this is the girliest Zelda design.

Media: Chinese ink, colored pencil

They don't treat her cruelly. They leave her in the castle because they think that Ganondorf doesn't know about the secret room, thus, with him actively looking for her, they are trying to keep her safe until Link is done. There was probably some way of getting food or water, it's just that it wasn't important to be shown.

I meant that more as a joke. I know why she had to stay in that room, and that video games usually don't show every little detail (no one in that game eats like a normal person). However, I don't like how they had to change Tetra's personality and keep her out of the action once it's revealed she's the princess

I personally think that her personality itself wasn't changed, but that the emotions she tried to hideΒ (since she had to, being a pirate)Β were brought to the surface, and since she'd tried to ignore them for so long, she just didn't know how to deal with them and they burst forth. When she teamed up with Link in the final battle, she seemed to be mostly back to normal, but a little less closed off emotionally.

This one came out really nice! I love how she's winking. xD
However, I expected her to be a bit shorter, since in The Wind Waker she's still a kid. Unless you wanted her to look a little older. Other than that, this is great!

Thank you! And yes, I had to draw her doing the Tetra pose with the wink

I figured the WW Zelda and Link are about 12, maybe 13, so I drew her taller than my young zelda (see Majora's Mask) but shorter than the adult Zeldas like OoT and TP. I think the fact that that all WW people are sort of chibi like makes it seem like my version is much taller.

Ah, good point. Personally, I think Tetra is about 12 and Link is 9 or 10, so yeah, I can see why you made her look taller.

I always assume Link and Zelda are the same age for some reason, probably because I played OoT first. I guess Link is probably more likely to be younger. Although, girls also have their growth spurts earlier, so there's that too.

True, true. Zelda seems older than Link because she acts more mature, too. In WW, she was always calling him out when he did something reckless.
