This is a great master grade of the Nu Gundam, especially the hands. But damn those funnels..they keep falling off.

A coat of paint will fix those falling funnels!

I was able to get them stay without any other means, however, they won stay straight - the whole assembly just bends under it's weight. I guess I'll have to use the fix suggested by syd.

xIGetUm In reply to aryss-skahara [2013-04-16 01:42:35 +0000 UTC]

When you say 'bend', are you talking about weight issues? For me, he doesn't lean or anything but his funnels curve and wrap around his shoulder. o_O There's a fix suggestion? What did he recommend doing?

Yep, that's what I meant. Here's a how-to: [link]

That's not a bad how-to. I did have a method I want to try out but I'll have to try it out when I have 100% confidence. xD

Hey now, if you're talking about the MG Hi-Nu then I have that kit as well! That Hi-Nu is still an awesome kit for its age! ^^

ReddArimori In reply to xIGetUm [2013-04-05 18:43:21 +0000 UTC]

That exactly what I'm talking about. I'm not good at detailing models so most of the time I just end up putting them together as is. They don't look flashy but I'm pleased non the less. I do however do custom paint jobs on mass produced mobile suits. I've painted a bunch of those. :3

Wonderful. Simply wonderful.
Small question out of curiosiy: how long did it take to you to build and finish this Gundam kit?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

xIGetUm In reply to xXTransformersGirlXx [2013-04-02 19:52:21 +0000 UTC]

To tell you the truth, it's still not finished (yet). I still have like 1/3-1/4 of the water slide decals left to apply before it's actually done. Dx Luckily it's mostly for the legs and back so it shouldn't take me much longer to get it done. After that, I'll start applying the decals for the MG RX-78-2 Ver. Ka. so I can get my Gunpla projects outta the way.

But to answer your question;

Building the Nu Gundam: 7-8 hours.
Panel lining: 1-2 hours.
Applying 3/4 of the water slide decals: 3 hours.

I'm sure it'll take me at least another 2 hours to finish the rest but I'm pretty sure more professional Gunpla builders can get it done faster. xD I'm a snail when I build my kits.

aryss-skahara In reply to xIGetUm [2013-04-05 13:15:32 +0000 UTC]

Have you tried Tamiya's panel line accent? That thing saves a lot of time on panel lining. I do the panel lining while parts on the runner, and it takes 2-8 minutes a runner, depending on complexity of panel lines and number of parts. It took me something around 30 minutes max for Nu. Building it took twice more time though )

xIGetUm In reply to aryss-skahara [2013-04-16 01:46:08 +0000 UTC]

I've been meaning to panel line the kits while they're on the runners but I'm so impatient that I build the kit first then panel line it after. Mind sending me a link to that panel accent thing from Tamiya? Sounds pretty useful!

Unfortunately this thing is enamel-based, so you can't order it from Japan. I was able to get mine in a local hobby shop.
