My entry for Teamartail's "Bloodlines" contest. I was in such a rush to complete it, and then the contest was extended. I'm not sure if I'm supposed to post this before the voting begins, but ah well.This is the part in Dan Drazen's story where Sandy (Sally's sister) and bunnie are kicking Swatbot ass in Robotropolis. I sort of wish I had more time to spend on it, as I could've done more with it. I've been so caught up in schoolwork lately that I haven't had time to do good old fashioned fanart. For a while I thought of uploading stuff on here that veered away form the usual Sonic fanart stuff, but then I realised that the people who watch me on here watch me for the fanstuff I do. It wouldn't be fair to suddenly change the stuff I do under this name to things that people didn't watch me for; If that makes sense.
BUT YEAH! Sandy Acorn decides to go off on her own and rip out the guts of robots.

I remember reading this years ago, in the primordial days of internet fanfiction. I'm faving this if only for the immense nostalgia feeling it gave me.

Finally! Some action. It's all the karate I hear about background characters having that I finally get to see!
Green cape? Leg piece? Robotic arm?
Throw in all the canon and fanon stuff (like energy blades and armor) and she would be a powerful character to play as.

Does Dan Drazen actually have an account on Deviantart? He's been one of my heroes for like three years! Brillaint picture as well; bloodlines was an awesome story and reading the ending made me feel like i'd been slapped in the face.

Omg! I'm so glad I finally found this pic on the DA! Definitely my favorite entry in that contest! Everything about it - the lineart, the coloring, the scene choice, the background... literally kicks ass!

Wow, the coloring and lines are so smooth! Love the action. Though I haven't read that particular fic... it's always good to see a well-done 'Freedom Fighter kicking ass' picture. XD

Awesome action scene...I like how everything just seems to flow together with all the detailed curves and wrinkles, like with the wires popping out of the swatbots as well as the curved perspective. The simplistic background fits well with the frantic action too. The attack poses of the characters are nicely done, though Bunnie seems kinda awkward and unnatural at first glance. Definitely a kick-ass entry...good luck in the contest!
I think you should continue to show off your other work in this gallery...you know, keep some variety to go along with the Sonic stuff.

How long did it take to get that done? It's amazing.
I think I'm also one of the few people who's read almost all of Dan's reviews but not his stories. I have yet to figure out why.
And I won't rip your head off if you post a variety of work. Sure I love the fanstuff but I always enjoy seeing other types of work as well.

I wasn't a reader of the stories either, but that might have something to do with the fact that I'm more of a Knuckles fan. He's actually a very good writer! I wish he had a hand in writing the Sonic comics.
I'm thinking that I might start a new account for non-Sonic stuff and link to it from here when I get to it, whenever that might be.

He is a good writer. Now that I think about it, I did read one of his stories but it was so long ago. Being more of a Knuckles fan myself, I stuck more to fics that dealt with him. Still, now that Ken Penders is leaving the comic, maybe things will turn around and become more solid.

'Tis a cool drawing. Nice sense of dynamism and action, and enviably clear linework on Sandy in particular. If there's time in the deadline extension to make more of the distance between Bunnie and the foreground, perhaps with more shading or something, then it might improve, but in that suggestion I've already run out of ideas for 'critique'.

Thanks for the advice! I might change it around now that I have the extra time. That, or start a new one. I agree with you on your journal; fanart IS an addiction. I don't think I can ever give it up. It's like crack.
