Drew this before the couple picture of them together. I like to draw a reference guide of the characters before I draw them in more complicated poses so that I can get all the outfit details. I really love them as a couple. Made a little mistake with making Mako shorter than Korra or maybe she is taller...idk. Pencil then inked the lines. Cool ! The soldiers are like this ...
Smart short blue jackets with brass buttons, blue and very wide brimmed felt hats, with blue high waisted enormous flared / bellbottom trousers...no feet can be seen under long massive pants, folds draped heavily on the ground as they stand, Immaculate and elegant uniforms against the wild dusty land....
And the women warriors are like this ...
paint in stripes on faces, arms and legs, green, red, yellow, hand prints on bare backs and breast. War paint, body paint and various coloured feathers sticking out of jet black hair, worn loose or in braids down our backs. Rings and studs in ears and noses with thick bronze arm bands worn around arms with war paint, armed with stun rifles, arrows and stun tomahawks. Formidable and fierce. Some wore short brown buck skin jackets, and others completely bare breasted in body paint. Tight leggings, G strings, bare legs and loin cloths. Tassels and beads on buckskin covered arms, bare feet, dusty and strong. A few even proudly wore the blue soldiers jackets - testifying to past conquests, past victories...

You know, I think I like the fact that she's older than Ang in this new Avatar season. Even though kids will love this, I think adults who grew up watching The Last Air bender can fall in love with it all over again and like these new characters without ruining the essence of what once was. Perhaps those of us who have grown old but not grown up can relate a bit easier to the troubles that can come with being older than the gAng?

I agree that I feel like I can relate to them better because they are older. Seems like they go through some more mature situations aswell. I
