Even with his days being as full as they were - what with all the horses at LEC that needed training and workout programmes, both their own and their boarders' - Sinder had somehow managed to find the time to work with the two colts Jazz had made his responsibility to train for their daughters. As jazz neared her duedate, he'd managed to get the colts started with simple gymnastic exercises to promote suppleness and an awareness of their bodies in preparation for the next steps of their training.

Granted, the two had very different personalities - much like he was hoping his and Jazz's twins would. The rose grey - which he'd named Rosewater - was much calmer, collected and ever-willing to do whatever he asked. Spitfire, the sooty chestnut was a different story; he was almost as stubborn as Sym on his bad days and Sinder never had a session with him that didn't result in some sort of a tiff between the two of them over whether the larger stallion was going to balk at the ground poles or go over them nicely, or whether he'd feign spooking at the mounting block just to see if he could unseat the blonde man. Sinder had to roll his eyes every time; though it was frustrating, he rather liked the energy and spirit that the horse brought to the table. He'd make an excellent jumper where Rosewater would make a beautiful dressage mount.

The sun was warm on his back as he stepped into the stirrups and Rose stood quietly under him as he settled himself into the saddle and collected his reins. Spring had come early bringing warm summery weather and sun well before it was supposed to have come and he wasn't complaining - after the hard snows of the winter, the warmth on his bare skin was delicious.

They walked round the ring, warming up, stretching, enjoying the day before Sinder asked him to pick up an extended trot, searching for that elusive floating feeling that he'd felt from the stallion before but that he was trying to assign an aid to so that it could be reached at will and not just when Rose felt like it. it was only several minutes before the horse stepped into it naturally and tossed his head before lowering it to the proper position, licking and chewing at the bit. Sinder grinned and patted his neck, murmuring words of praise.

And because when I was making this someone asked, those scars cover a good portion of his back and are from getting hit by a car when he was younger.
