Why'd he have to go with his dad on the mission while Shikamaru and the other 4 people go on that suicide retrieval mission? His presence alone could've turned the tables! Why, Kishimoto, why???

That scene with Shino coming out of the water after his bugs raped half the fleet of ships was the most epic thing I've ever seen. I thought "Damn why not send Shino after Sasuke. The prick would be swallowed by bugs before he got off a single fire attack anyway." Then I remembered that he is right next to Tenten in the no screen time characters level.
