Basically, boys are interested in obvious action, girls in attracting it... that's what active/passive means. Since it is the opposite sex and not the complementary, charging something requires any kind of energy, so anything goes. The reality of being intensely active/passive interferes with the less intense mundane interaction because attraction is a matter of attention. So this desperation is very interesting, indeed...
