I hope your artist told you that a koi swimming downwards in a tattoo is really awful when it comes to meanings.
otherwise, this is a gorgeous koi tat, its very well done.

Well from my knowledge, a koi swimming up means you have already overcome hardships and a koi swimming down means you're still in the process because the koi has not yet gathered the strength to attempt the swim. Either way with any tattoo it means differently for each person, but thank you ^___^.

I know, like the original vision I had of it was this [link] and I of course asked the artist if I could use it and what not but when I went to get it done the guy drew up something else and it turned into this which I absolutely love lol.

Both of the pictures are lovely, but i think is great to have someting unique from everything ealse and you do have that. XD
