So far I have been in the hospital over a week straight. I am so grateful I’ve been admitted to such a wonderful Children’s hospital. Any other hospital, or doctor I would go see, assumed the same thing - I was depressed, and had anorexia. I mean, or course they would think that considering I’m a teenage girl( Who was thin to start of with.) that’s lost 20lbs in a VERY short amount of time. My parents and I fought that answer. We knew that was not the truth. We knew there was something wrong with me. We knew anorexia didn’t explain why I couldn’t eat, why I constantly had pain in my stomach, why my stomach always burned, why I could feel the stomach acids washing up my through, why I always felt nauseous. Anerexia just didn’t make since to us…considering mentally I wanted to eat more than ANYTHING, but physically it was impossible.

The hospital I am in now never thought for a minute that I was depressed or anorexic. They could tell just by looking at me there was something wrong, they could tell just by listing to my symptoms there was something wrong- they took the time to listen to me. Within a day they had an idea what was wrong with me. And you know what? They their ideas where right. The doctors ran a few test on me. The test finally reveled what was wrong with me. I have ulcers in my stomach, I have SMA syndrome(Superior Mesenteric Artery Syndrome), and along with that I have eosinophilic gastroenteritis. Lucky, all in which I have been diagnosed with, were found in early stages.

That tube in my nose is a feeding tube…it’s feeding the nutrients I need to my tummy. Yep, that lil tubes gonna be going home with me…
