You are right about the hair, though in some ways, I like more with long hair.
You can use a translator to read the fanfic and ready.

The fanfic is in Spanish, I can't read it.....
But I said that because there is an OVA from Fma Brotherhood where Riza says she had always used short hair, she wanted to let it longer because she liked Winry's hair.
Anyway, nice drawing

Yes, but this image was inspired by fanfic called "Desde Entonces" in which, Riza had long hair before certain events described on the manga. Riza's past, before that, it is free of interpretation since the author does not give details about his childhood.
