Honestly sometimes I even feel sad for changelings cuz I saw so much pictures where others offends them, I think this is not fair a bit^^
Anyway personally I have absolutely nothing against them, think that any creature have to have an own place for living)

P.S. Violence is quite often necessary. In a perfect world you could talk things out and avoid fighting. Sadly, our world is not and never will be. Of course, you want to avoid a fight whenever possible.

I wrote a four part fanfic with a scene like this some time ago. The main character is a pegasus named Forester. The story takes place during the Great Changeling War, and shows Lt. Foresters involvement during it. Through the story, told in flashbacks, one finds out why he had to leave Equestira, after it was over, and why going back after hiding for years in the White Tail Woods.
This is the epic Part 3 which includes the battle scene. You might find this story interesting.

Part 3
After an exciting day, Forester and Odo returned home. For dinner that evening, Forester decided to try cooking over a fire again. After securing a small ring with stones, Forester and Odo gathered some sticks and lit them with flint rocks, but Forester’s attempt to twist some long grasses around some sticks with certain leaves and flowers stuck between them in a kind of shish kabob fashion did not turn out as well as he thought it would. To say it nicely, dinner ended up a bit more ‘well done’ than cooked, but, on the bright side, it wasn’t too terrible, and after a good laugh over it, Forester and Odo put the fire out, and grazed for a short while.
When night fell, Forester and Odo turned into their hut, and spoke for a time about the day’s events, who they saw, and how they would prepare to leave the White Tail Woods in the morning. When they were ready, they climbed onto their beds.
