More doodles! *wins the prize for the most epic title ever X'D*Though honestly, I have no clue what category to dump these in. These certainly don't fall in the traditional category, but I didn't scribble these on me computer either...
So basically the only reason I'm uploading these scribbles up is because I feel like yapping about this amazing little program I came across a month or so back. It's a sketchbook thing, for one's DS. :'D And so far, this is the best use I've gotten out of that silly touch screen with the stylus! So fun it is~! Its like... I'm doodling with a pencil but I can easily grab colours without having to go through the usual tediousness of 'where's the accursed brown pencil now?! argh! ..oh I'm holding it'. XD Is this what its like for you digital artists? Colours at hand, all the time? If so, no wonder you guys churn out so many pretty quickinesses and then call them 'speedpaint'! :'D
...Not that these could be called pretty quickinesses from anywhere.
Anyways, boring color test portraits.
(I'm sure everyone knows all the characters already but just incase there are some new people who have no clue what their names are (...but how could one watch me and not know?! :'D ), from left to right - Luc, Aimon, Lularum, and Izul. Sir Fenrir, thou art not included for thine doodle was truly ugly and thine whiteness made everyone look even blah-er)
Oh yes, the little thing I was yapping on about. [link] Go try it out if you happen to own a flash cart (ye pirate!) and want to be as silly as me and want to waste time drawing on your DS instead of constructively using it to play a game! X'D

Wow, I never realised those were done in Colors! when I first saw them in my message center a while back!
I find Colors! so hard to use, everytime you want to change the brush size or color even slightly you have to call up this menu thing... I don't know I never got used to it and find it amazing what kind of pictures you can draw with it!
It's amazing how you can put SO MANY colors in a picture and make it work and not look too flashy and hurtful for the eyes!
I love Luc's concentrated Gaze, Aimon's serious and Lul's playful expression and Izul...looks just confused, haha XD
I just wonder why Aimon's portrait doesn't have any background, I think it would get a great deal more atmosphere. For some reason I imagine something reddish and heavy, regal here, maybe because she has such heavy jewelery on her (is that normal though for her? I can't remember).

Really? Maybe its because you're trying to paint horizontally? I actually found it a bit cumbersome to paint upon too, in the beginning. :'D But that was because I had (still have actually, and do my painting on this one) an ancient DS. The very first model. And that is HEAVY, especially when one tries to hold it in that 'book format' (vertically). So... I'd often end up with finger cramps by the end of it.
I think I've finally gotten the hang of it though...! XD
Aimon's portrait doesn't have a background actually because... hrm.. she was one of the first I did? And aside from that, I guess I was experimenting around with 'light background'! (I guess it got TOO light, ne? :'D) Now that you're mentioning it, I suppose a darker redder background might have actually made her stand out more. But I really had no clue what I was doing when I made her~ *the loser*
As for her heavy jewelery - nope, she'd rather very much go off without it. But as a High Priestess, she has to wear them. Jewels of the gods and all that. Great guiders of the masses certainly cannot appear underdressed in front of the masses, can they!? No ho! X'D (I guess she's actually just extra confusing simply because she's my only character who changes [and continues to change!] so much. That, and the fact that I keep jumping to different timelines in different pictures~ XDDD *inconsistent one*)

no, no, I actually hold the DS just how you normally do when playing but still it seems so much of a hassle to just change the color and brush-size @_@
Oh I like the lighter backgrounds of the other characters, it's just that specially for Aimon's portrait I immediately had to imagine something dark and "regal" to fit the picture.

I want to play that Colors. I've got Brain Age, so the DS for more than gaming makes sense already, heheh! XD
These're some nice doodles. I really like how you use color. Their hair and Aimon's outfit are so fun to look at.

I've never actually tried Brain Age (though read about it) but I have tried out My Japanese Coach on me DS. X'DDD (Yay for using one's DS for odd things!) You really must try this out though, if you have a flash cart! I feel like my DS has turned into an extra convenient, very portable sketchbook!

I'm very fond of the Aimon doodle, for some reason. And next would be the Luc doodle, because I have anunhealthy obsession with the color purple.

Its so funny to hear how most of you guys actually like the Aimon doodle, considering I was about to leave her out too! :'D And your purple obsession sounds like mine with blue! XD

It was a bit difficult to draw at first, but after lots of ugly mess ups I think I've finally started to get the hang of it! :'D

aww why not poor Fenrir.. TT! *waves fangirl flags* We love you Sir Fenrir..we love you anyway ;_;!
Aah yeah isn`t it nice? *__* grab the colour real quick no looking through pens and markers xD; not that I had all THAT many shades to begin with, but it sure was a pain to figure out what can blend (using pencils) to get better shades and yeah..digital works are much faster but.. STILL..nothing can beat the traditional looks!

Aimon was fun to make! I was experimenting around and had just learnt how to zoom in when working on her so she got all the 'detailed' treatment.
Fenrir's portrait was just so pale and totally clashing with the colours of others that... he got dumped. X'D (we still love you though Sir Fenrir! X'D even if your pic was ugly! 
Traditional really is the best! But this is so fast and convenient... I envy you and your digital awesome-ness-es! I think I definitely shall get a tablet someday in the future! (Until then, lots of bad doodle times on this!)

very nice, I love all the colours you use and the way you use them. Your technique/style would be perfect for illistrating a children book, or just a nice fantasy book.

Actually, since this thing had a little replay thing with each painting... I probably could. But quite honestly, these are such rough sketches that... it's probably not even worth it to show how I blundered and made my way through these! I was just experimenting and trying to learn!

My favorite is the Lul portrait XD. Yep, she's a total shonen manga protagonist!
Izul is drunk? Aimon is "meh, whatever..." I just love how their personalities 'shine' forth, excellent portraits, all of them.
Oh yeah, digital art is awesome for lazy people like moi. There's not just the undo button, layers and all(in Photoshop atleast XD)... I just love how one has this unlimited palette of colors (even though I barely use them, much unlike yourself *I can't stop looking at all the beautiful colors! and they look like both watercolors and digital paintings at the same time 0_0

Actually, Lul is my favourite too. :'D I feel like I'd finally gotten the hang of things by the time I got to her. Izul was the first ' proper' one I made (after some very bad Adol Christins! XD) Heh heh... shounen hero! (Lookie! Someone even got goggles to fit the role! *gets shot by Lul*)
As for Izul being drunk - I actually have no clue. X'D I kept thinking up random stories for each and his spanned from 'ouch I have a cold and Luc has given me a suspicious looking medicine?' to 'I hast been dumped for the umpteenth time so I get drunk/How many bloody dragons do I kill before I win me love's favour - drunk'. :'D
I be lazy too! Therefore, this thing be utter love!
I'll upload Fenrir and show him to you. I feel a bit bad dumping the poor guy out of the group like so but he's just so blah!
