I realized it's been quite a while since I've uploaded something (almost a month?
), and longer still since I've uploaded something that isn't brown(!), soooo... *sticks this up* Something blue!I didn't really think I would show this here.
So incredibly, cheesily cliched and overdone this is! But, oh well!Medium: Watercolours, gouache and silver on wasli
So whenever one is short of time and has an impending exhibition of doom looming over one's head, what does one do? Make a typical elvern instrument player! Actually she was a scrapped doodle of a character that shall appear in another painting who got painted in... not such a doodley manner.
(To be more exact - this lady here is one of those who leads the procession of festive non-humans with her music to the very jolly demon queen. And then they all have a party. End story. X'D )

I love both brown as well as your attacks with shades of blue (ultramarine, GO! XD) - this might truely be nothing very new, but I like it nonetheless. especially the detail on the clothes!

I did an instrument player too a while back. Except it's ugly and muddy brown 
I don't think this exhibition is in Lahore? I wish I could see this in 'IRL'. *can't make out where the silver is* but it's pretty as it is, nevertheless!

I preferred to think of it as a drattedly overly colorful peacock! X'D I started off thinking I wanted a person with green hair and then... couldn't figure out what on earth to do next! :'D
The exhibition is over actually! (Quite ancient, this painting is!) Should be, atleast! I mean, I so didn't care about these two I made for it that I still haven't checked with the gallery. X'D It was here in Islamabad - Nomads. But oh ho! I'm so glad you can't see this in real! I was in quite a woonky blingy mood when I was getting this framed and so for some reason, I kept the thin strip of a double mount silver! Ack! *people get blinded by cheapiness!*
The silver is in her shoes by the way. XD *loves shiny shoes*

Nah! I'm actually currently working on a VERY brown painting! I just figured my gallery would get totally get swallowed up in muddy colors! X'DDD The impending exhibition of doom has actually already impended! :'D It was last month and just finished... it should have finished today actually. I hated this painting so much though, that I shoved it aside, vowing never to show it to anyone/anyplace! (But while going through all of my recent works, I figured this was the only truly non-brown thing (and I didn't hate it with as much passion as I did before!) soooo... it got put up here!)

XD...it took me a moment before i saw the faces on the trees...but that's a great touch. gives the picture a little extra something. ^^
and really, the background colors are perfect - gives a good sense of depth...and such a pretty shade of blue <3
And I love all the detailed patterning on her robes and tights...

I actually had fits about the patterns on her tights. X'D I had this mad idea to use gold paint and somehow that wouldn't apply nicely at all! Too blobby and... well blobby it was! D: But thanks a lot! I'm actually really, really shocked how everyone actually likes this? I mean... why do you all love the stuff of mine that I declared failures?! X'D
