Description The scene where Batman returns, from the movie Dark Knight Rises. A3 pristol paper. HB, B, 2B, 4B and 0,5-0,7 mechanical pencils I used. It took around 40 hours to finish this. I'm not very much satisfied with the result though :/ Hope you like it, enjoy

Thank you I didn't very much like the way I used my pencils, and on darker parts it's easy to see pencil strokes

How is that even possible with just pencils? How do you draw like that? do you have a YouTube channel to show tutorials? This looks like a photo and you need to make tutorial and share this craziness.Β

No problem! Just one question... How did you get a drawing so dark only with HB, B, 2B and 4B pencils?Β

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

YALIM1907 In reply to louistik [2014-07-27 21:07:13 +0000 UTC]

well dark parts are mostly of course 4B but 0.5 mechanical pencil makes very dark if you use it with some force. only problem with is is that you can damage the paper very easily, so you need to be at the same time gentle but also use some strength on the pencil. and due to 0.5 is a sharp Β pencil, it makes those dark parts. if the result is not satisfying, then you can pass some more darker layers with 4B pencil.

Woah amazing as always sir! Btw got a question, how could you make the background and the suits looks so dark? Because the darkest pencil you use just 4B right?Β

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

YALIM1907 In reply to ArtnSketch [2013-10-30 06:58:30 +0000 UTC]

thank you very much! yes i used 4B and it was kinda hard but still the brand of the pencil was a different one than the usual, and it was very smooth, sharp and painted realy nice black parts. but still i had to pass over the dark parts several times, not like 8B or other higher pencils

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ArtnSketch In reply to YALIM1907 [2013-10-30 07:14:37 +0000 UTC]

Ah I see, brand does matter eh?Β Β Β  Anyway thanks for your answer! Because I got confused at first how could you reach that level of "Black" just using a 4B pencil, because I can't get that darkness using my 4B pencil, probably a lack of skills tooΒ Β

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

YALIM1907 In reply to ArtnSketch [2013-10-30 13:21:37 +0000 UTC]

yes the brand really matters, it was some kind of italian or french brand but can't remember well i lack skill too and i hate black parts I just use all my force on the pencil, and make that black part (and break the pencil often)

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ArtnSketch In reply to YALIM1907 [2013-10-31 04:14:43 +0000 UTC]

Hmm Italian or French ? Well suddenly I think about this brand "Pierre Noire Conte", there's a few artists that using this brand and I see the result were great too, especially for the Black parts. Lol about "using force on the pencil"
