Ayame from the game series "Tenchu". For this work I used Open Canvas 4. Open canvas comes with a feature that allows you to watch "events", which are full recorded sessions of a work made by an artist. So, if you download an event from an artist you like you can actually see the complete development of his/her work (It is not my intention to promote this software). This drawing was made imitating the work pattern of an event I saw, which was very cool and awsome by the way [link]
Done just to see what came out of it.

Drawn and painted in open canvas 4. Stars made in photoshop CS1. Used pen tablet.

The stance is very good! Zomg she ties her hair like me Which is this game I havent played it..but maybe I should. As far as I can see it's about ninjas?
I've been told that linearts are done better in Open canvas rather in PS, is that right?

I always thought that Ayame's hair style was so cool! So your hair style must be cool too XD!
Yup, it's a ninja game, and an excellent game to me ^^. It's pretty simple and arcadeish (lol, this word sure doesn't exist); it's quite fun to play. It also has cool kill sequences for when you get an unsuspecting enemy (mostly from behind, MUAHAHAHA). I only played the ps2 games, but i heard the 360's is bad (so don't play it XD). Oh, and the game is called "Tenchu".

About the OC vs PS thing, I haven't really made up my mind about which one is better (but for painting i think OC is better). I can't really tell if there really is a difference, because maybe i only see them just because people say is better.
I've made a comparison with a drawing of mine (done one in OC and the other in PS) and they look pretty much the same (the OC was a little more blurry and smooth, which may be why it some times looks nicer, but i belive the reason for this is that PS allows more quality to the image when compressed, since it's a professional tool, but ironicaly makes the lineart look more weird). Moreover, I think the media by which the lineart is drawn is more important. I mean, if you have a better pen tablet it should be guaranteed that the results will be better. But, I can't really say it's true because I have an entry level tablet (wacom graphire3 4x5 inch) and never tried a more expensive one. I also don't know what difference it makes if you have a bigger tablet (i can only guess it's more sensitive that way). So, I hope you like my, uh, long opinion XD.

thanks for the info. I dont know anything about tablets O.o They just gave it to me for my b-day and I don't have any idea if it's good or bad.
I like Ayame's outfit. Her belt and trouser are simmilar to our (bulgarian) national costume XD So the game isn't for PC? =[

You're welcome ^-^. That sure is something casual XD, i mean, what are the chances they are simmilar?? (it is a small world after all...^^). Yes, it's only for PS, but I think you can get the first ones (tenchu, and tenchu 2) for PC if you have a PS one emulator (and of course, the rom). I've been told they are pretty much the same as the third, so they should be fun even though they're quite old.
And, sorry for the ultra late reply.

Thanks!!
I highly recomend you try and download a trial of Open canvas, watch what another artist did (with the event viewer) and then try it yourself. That's what I did, really. The watercolor brush does almost all the magic by itself. Does things photoshop can't do that easily. Do you have a pen tablet? It does ease things a bit too. Hope my tip proves useful.
