Hello everyone, ^_^

How are you? Are you doing well? I sure hope that you are! Well, it took a little longer than I expected, but I'm finally finishing this piece for my dear friend

I posted the sketch last week, as seen here:

As I mentioned then, this is a birthday gift for as well as being a thank you for a number of things.... Since I mentioned my reasoning in great detail for the sketch of this image, I thought I'd include the majority of those comments here also, since they still ring true now.....

As stated previously, this image is an extra special gift for my dear friend . I wanted to do this for a number of reasons..... Aside from being a birthday gift, I wanted to celebrate the fact that we've friends now for a number of years; and it's through Deviantart that we were able to meet one another! .

Thirdly, she's been especially great to me these past few weeks on both an inspirational level and as I try to figure out the huge question that is the meaning of life....

And lastly, since coming to meet with me for the Yu-Gi-Oh movie premiere a few weeks ago, she's been *amazingly* patient and supportive in regards to my ever evolving love for this series that I cherish so deeply! Much of that has to do with my own creations in regards to Yu-Gi-Oh; namely my long running fanfiction, Transcending Memories: A Bond Unsealed
[link] This is coupled with my re-creation of the character of Teana who I have described as a past life version of Anzu/Tea, initially, but who has evolved far beyond that in my own mind.

Not only has been incredibly supportive in regards to continuing this work (which has been on my mind since its initial creation in 2003) but she was ALSO kind enough to write some accompanying pieces to my work herself!!!! These wonderful works of hers, can be sampled at the following links:

is a without a doubt one of the most talented writers that I've encountered, and it was nothing short of an honor to have her write not only one, but two pieces that described Yami and Teana as I envision them. has written a number of works ranging from original works to even fanfiction! Her fanfiction subjects include, Voltron, Final Fantasy VII, Kingdom Hearts, Legacy of Kain, Devil May Cry, Valkyrie Profile, Sonic the Hedgehog, Yu-Gi-Oh, Mass Effect, and Toy Story.

I suppose that also brings me to the image above now doesn't it? ^_^

One of her works in relation to Final Fantasy 7 and Kingdom Hearts is titled "Behind Blue Eyes," which can also be found at the link above or this link directly:

The heart of the story describes the legendary character of Sephiroth from Final Fantasy 7 finding true love with the influential heroine of the tale; a young nurse named Jeanette. And yes! It is these two characters that I have pictured in the image above!

When drawing Sephiroth in particular, I chose to depict him in a more anime-esque style as opposed to complete realism. I found a number of images on google to use as reference and though I do like him when rendered realistically, I much preferred the look of him in works such as the OVA the Last Order: Final Fantasy VII.

When depicting Jeanette, I used references provided to me by herself, but I also wanted to try my own approach; the somewhat realistic, and somewhat anime-esque style that I used drawing Sephiroth.

Though I have yet to fully immerse myself in this story (as of this writing, anyway) managed to speak of their story and relationship with such passion and devotion during our last meeting! Her verbal account *alone* piqued my interest and inspired me to create the image above!

When she did describe these two as a couple to me, I imagined a pair that was fiercely devoted to one another; feeling completely at ease in each other's presence. I only hope that I was able to capture even a fraction of what I could hear in voice, for even without reading it, at this point in time, I already know that the coupling of Jeanette and Sephiroth is sure to be an epic one! If 's previous works are any indication, I'm sure to be in for a real treat indeed! And I highly suggest that all of you sample her works also!

When painting the image, I wil admit that I received much feedback on the process by herself. She requested that Jeanette be given a burgandy hair color for instance, and that Sephiroth be given a black silk robe. Originally, I had wanted to put Sephiroth in light colors, given the luminous colors of his surroundings because I hoped to create a sort of dream sequence or perhaps a heavenly setting where he is in his beloved Jeanette's world. Because of this, I chose to depict her, and all of the colors around her to be soft and bright; perhaps even soothing.... However, when suggested the dark colors that Sephiroth would be wearing, I thought that perhaps that could symbolize his eventually fall into darkness and madness. Despite the true happiness and comfort that he did indeed experience with his love, Jeanette, sadly in the end the story of these two ends in a bittersweet manner....

Once again, I suggest everyone (and hey! I will speak for myself also!) to go and read this wonderful tale, as I know without question that it will be something to remember!
