I never really saw it that way. He found the heart, or more what a heart really is, but he didn't gain it in my opinion.
I guess I can see what you mean about being hopeful, but I don't really agree. For example, Nnoitra was my favorite Espada, but would I want him to return? Definitely not. I can't stand it when dead characters are brought back for whatever reason. Once someone is dead they should stay dead.
But hey, this is all just my opinion. Each to their own.

I would really like Ulquiorra to come back because I'm curiose about what could happen between him and Orihime because of all that happened in the dome.. Curiosity wins XD
