While Near was freaking out over what Mello had said, he knew it had to be true. Everything was red and he could see everyone's real names. "But I.." Mello put his hand over Near's mouth. Go to sleep. We can deal with this in the morning." Mello said, tossing some new black pajama pants at Near. "Sorry, but you know me, black is all I wear. Here, here's a shirt." Mello said, putting on his own sleep wear. Near changed and frowned. "Mello, do you.. Do you really love me?" he asked the blonde. "Of course I do. And whoever did this.. They won't be doing it again. I'll make sure of that." Mello replied, yawning. "Can I sleep with you? Please?" Near begged. Sure. Here." Mello said evenly, holding up the blanket he was under. Near snuggled close to his beloved and fell asleep, dreaming of different things. In one dream, it was dark. He couldn't see, but somehow he knew that he was in Mello's room. The darkness faded, and he could see a figure standing on the far end of the room. "Mello?" Near tried to say. His voice was quiet, but the figure somehow heard him. It turned and Near gasped; The figure looked like him, only taller and it had a sadistic smile. It laughed and held up something for Near to see. Near cried out because he knew what it was. Mello's body hung in the air, dripping with blood as crimson as the killer's eyes. "Hello. How nice of you to join me in my ultimate reign of blood. My my my, you really must have loved this kid, he was crying for you to stay away form your father. L is jealousss. BUT I AM NOT. Come son, join me." the killer hissed and held out his hand, which was sticky and smelled of jam. Near was just reaching out to take the hand when he sat straight up in Mello's bed and screamed. "Near, what's wrong?!? Shh, it was prolly a bad dream, it's ok..." Mello wrapped his arms around the sobbing albino and shushed him. He sang a small song to him, one that he vaugley remembered his mom singing to him. "When the light begins to fade, ad shadows fall across the sea.One bright star in the evening sky, is like your love's light, leading me back home." he finished the song and Neaar smiled gently. "Hey, your eyes arn't red anymore." Mello said, tracing the dark circles underneath Near's now silver eyes.
