OKAY. WOW. WHEW. This piece here was commissioned by !This picture contains 3 things that are troublesome to me:
1) anthro
2) muscles
3) armor
Anthro, muscle, and armor veterans out there, if you have any criticisms and tips to give, I would definitely appreciate them
So why accept a commission that has elements that I find difficult to do? Because there's no better way to practice than to force yourself into doing it! I can tell myself 10,000 times that I need to practice drawing anthro characters, but I'll still probably never do it. But when I accept a commission for it, then I have no choice but to plant my big fat butt on my chair and draw it. Yeehah.
But you know what? The bright light hid the muscles anyway. FAIL.
Anyway, ~LeomarvomBerg was great about the whole thing. He gave me a lot of rope to hang myself work with, and was very kind in wording his corrections (in the first sketch she looked more like a fox than a jackal, hah). He sends really nice cheerful e-mails and is a joy to work with
Anyway, in case you can't tell, she's a jackal :3

Oh dear, I have no skill with art whatsoever and cannot provide any useful feedback. I find the perspective interesting. I imagine figuring out the light and shadows took up a lot of your time. Although it is not a human face, the expression still stands out. Good work!

Thanks! Actually light and shadow is what I find most fun, so I can actually do it pretty quick ^^ But drawing an anthro face, aaaugh!

Seriously though, good work, I like her proportions, outfit, and facial tattoos! She like a war bride of Anubis or something?

Yeah, that's really a problem. Take an anthro jackal in an Egyptian setting and everyone is suggesting a connection to Anubis.
But in her case, she is more a mix of both a shaman and an acolyte of Apophis/Apep, maybe influenced a bit by Bastet.
Therefore the snakes on her greaves.

Wow! This is super impressive. I love the perspective and I think the bright light adds wonderful energy to the piece. You said anthros are troublesome to you, it TOTALLY didn't come out that way.
