Did you know that my middle name is Cruz? You don't care? Oh well.I had a box of Cray-Pas, or Oil Pastels lying around and I thought I'd give them a try
Anyway, I was too lazy to draw a new picture so I dug around my scratch papers for something that I could color and I unearthed this old fanart sketch of Soma Cruz that I made long long long ago. Castlevania is love, by the way.
Unfortunately, the sketch was done on smooth bond/typing paper which is not exactly the best paper to use for oil pastels! Soooo, I end up with this FRIGGIN' MESS =______=
The paper was too smooth so the pastels didn't have anything to hold on to, so the colors would just clump up and glide around the surface! Gaaaaargh. But since I spent time coloring it, might as well post it up. Will move to scraps later.
Sometime when I'm not busy with other things I shall try using these damn pastels again on BETTER PAPER =_=

But all in all, I think heΒ΄s a contemplative and...yeah...sad young man.
A bit arrogance, to hide his scare is also a part of his character. (forgive my bad language)

Good picture of Soma. I like the older version better, before they sold out to the generic anime-ish look. This is kind of a combination of the two styles.

I have that same experience with pastels too when you use cheap thin paper. Lalo na kung watercolors at maling papel ang gamit mo, everything will be ruined with blots and ovelaps.
This one looks good though kahit ganun ang nangyari sa'yo, hehe.

I betcha if you tried for a bit, you could actually set up and take a picture of your doll in that position w/ that background.
Though, it'd be a sad to rip his clothes up just for a picture.
